  1. Maybe try more directly and see what you get... http://heath.250free.com/gamedev Oh.. and Heath... I'd say you are off to a good start. I'd have him pause with the foot at the back and maybe go lower a second time to show he is anticipating and then exerting energy to move the 'heavy object'.
  2. *Edit: I'm getting the same thing as you now Robcat. Strange... I got the first one but all others are the 'no hotlinking' message downloaded as a movie file. Maybe we are running into more than one issue here... one of which is a bandwidth problem. Keeping at it I can see the movie once by refreshing the page... but this works only once.
  3. BUMP... because it's cool. While the whole discussion is great you may want to go directly to the instructions and download part HERE
  4. Bob, Glad to see you finished these up! I thought the first two episodes were winners when I saw them and your new additions certainly held up the standard. Cute characters, interesting dialogue and great animation. Bravo!
  5. I have to concur with Jon concerning posting images prior to competition. While it doesn't rule out a vote from me I consider the fact that I've seen the image prior to the contest. "Bad form" is a good way to put it. I've mostly given up on commenting on the practice though as it'll apparently never end. Maybe I should just automatically rule out any image that was preannounced as eligible? Seems harsh but it might be easier just to buy my vote. On the other hand I do understand the thrill of entering the contest and the overwhelming need to share.
  6. Very nice Matt... maybe you can adapt it to the next months (or a future) competition.
  7. 'Tis Opus of Bloom County comic strips by Berkley Breathed (or however you spell his name).
  8. Yup. The Tinkering Gnome is out of his cage... I say again... The Tinkering Gnome is out of his cage.
  9. I like him too! Looks like a really fun character. I'm not sure where your storyline might take him but the imagery I get when I think of him in action is cool. I like the shoes too! (probably is a bit too radioactive green though)
  10. I'd say you are capturing that feel quite well. Yours is a style that seems familiar but quite original too. It's always a joy to see updates to your story. Keep it up!
  11. I love your tardis. That toon render... the one you can't seem to reproduce again... that is really neat. Makes me think there should be a Dr. Who cartoon series. Are you modeling the interior next?
  12. Nice Roughy! That looks like quite an improvement over your first anime models (and I like them!). Very smooth.
  13. oooooooooo..... Shiny! Hey... where is the engine in that thing?
  14. Manzelli, I like what you have thus far! I'd guess you plan to add more but here are a few things I think might make it even better. The scene where the spaceship moves down the street seems to need something else (I'm not quite sure what). As it stands my eye sees two things 1 ) The perspective/size of the spaceship seems to change out of sync with the scene. 2 ) The last lamppost shows through the middle of the spaceship at scene when it goes in front of it. This may be intentional but looks a bit strange. The whole scene is good but it makes me think that the 'driver' of the spaceship is looking for something weaving around like that... maybe if there were small probes of light hitting the ground... searching.... I'm not sure here... Also, where the spaceship stops and we are looking at it for awhile I'd suggest having some other movement of lights or a reversal of the middle section's spin. Give the viewer something to see while they are waiting. Loved the spaceship opening and ladder dropping scenes! Lastly... I really really really wanted to see what was going to come down out of the spaceship! Great job building up the suspense. Your scene is set up perfectly for the introduction to your main character(s). Looks like you are working toward a winner. Oh... and... feel free to ignore this one too... I'm sure you understand that some will take offense to the title, "Alien Bastard" Depending on who your target audience is that may be a consideration. It could be a plus or a minus depending on your story, character and entended audience. I'm sure you have considered that though. Keep it up! Rodney
  15. Pov, People are going to have to make a study of your design, splining, texturing and lighting techniques. Most awesome!
  16. You REALLY should get bored more often Frank. Great job!
  17. Thats a great tip! Thanks. The crowd scene is amazing!
  18. Beautifully modeled! The lighting looks a bit stark but brings out the detail nicely. Maybe it's the solid coloring... Great just the same.
  19. Great job! I can see why the client would be happy. Here's hoping this will lead to more of the same for you. Thanks for sharing this.
  20. John... you aren't getting into storytelling are you? Looks like you are having fun at any rate. Keep on posting!
  21. Sometimes decals aren't the only way to attack the idea. ...don't forget the power and simplicity of Patch Images. As long as you have a valid patch in the form of a rectangle you can Right Click and add an image or sequence of images.
  22. Beeautifully Done! Simplicity combined with detail in classy looking form. They look like they were modeled in clay as well. ...and did you use FrankH's composing tip? The angle almost looks like it. People are going to want to know your texturing/lighting settings...
  23. Personal attacks are always in bad form Paul... care to edit that last post?
  24. Brain, I think the current frustration doesn't have anything to do with the existance of other applications. Probably more to do with the fact that a lot (most?) people that hang out in the A:M Forum use... Animation:Master... many exclusively. Couple that with the long standing rule of not discussing other software in the company' forum and you might see where conflicts arise. You do understand this right? If this was CGTalk or a general 3D/CG forum... the sky would perhaps be the limit. Sorry to here you've abandoned your project if you really have. Best, Rodney
  25. BUMP! I must have been out of office when this was last updated. More great info to assimilate... Some great resources attached to these posts.
