just a small update on Lantern.

Some knurl look with splines not decals on fuel cap , pump knob, Cap nut

beveling on the top air vent

created my own name for Lantern and decal done with XARA

Getting Close to being done.

Has anyone got an idea how I can make the wick bag real looking.I am really stumped with that. Thought of using Lace Material

I'm not familiar with the lace material.

 

If that doesn't work, a transparency map could be made that has the fabric pattern on it and that could be tiled on the shape.

well here is what I have got done .The lace material is on with glow thank you for your help.

I will have to do the transparency map.

Is there a good Lesson for playing with fire. I would Like to make this Lantern Light up. You no that big Flash Poof you get then wick slowly turns into a glow

Hmmm... that's a somewhat different look than our typical torch fire. And very brief.

 

Try the fire tut in TAoA:M none-the-less if you haven't worked with particles yet.

I was just playing with lighting. This is what I came up with. I still need to put glow to wick. I have not done anything with that yet

I have spent very little time in this area lighting its pretty cool
