You can adjust the angle and magnitude of the spline thru any CP with bias adjustments.

Turn on the "Show Bias" button to see the adjuster. You can turn it and pull it to suit any shape. Shift and CTRL modify how it works.

Another thing that will help is to add two splines to the track that match up with the splines in the wheel.

[EDIT] Oops. Thos aren't splines in the wheel, they are normal markers. Well, add two splines to the track that match up with those normal markers in the wheel...

Well tracks aren't usually flexible so shouldn't be curved. If you are looking for a conveyor belt then the CP handles are your best bet. And if you are animating it - well you have additional headaches.

Lathe concentric circles with maybe 16 segments, then delete part of the circle. Hold down shift and attach straight splines.

Someone, and I'm sorry I can't remember who, posted a tutorial about tank treads about a year ago, I believe. It was well done and it animated in an extremely real fashion.

One of these a gotta help? The main problem that you have is that your tread sections are too long. Either increase the diameter of your driving wheel or decrease the length of your tread sections. This is all assuming you are going to animate the treads. If you are not going to animate them, then just make two circle splines, one inside the other separated by the thickness of your treads. Place these spline rings centered on the front drive wheel. The inner circle should be the same diameter as the drive wheel. The outer circle should be larger by the thickness of the treads. Now lock these rings and use them as a guide to line up the tracks. I believe that might be what Robert was saying.

Show us your trials.

If you are still having trouble, then you might have to give us more specifics.

Hope that helps.

Eric
