Here's a quick storyboard just to see if this gag works. The audio is a very sincere Irish brogue-y monolog and I wanted to give it a twist. What do you think?

Hi Gerry, I like the idea, hope to see the animation finished...

spleen, yeah, it's a poster of pigeons, sort of a red herring to set up the gag. Might have a window on the left for him to gesture toward.

I love it! I think you should disguise the birds a bit... make them more subtile... or maybe they just stood out because the rest was sketch. I guessed that it wasn't about birds before the end because the birds were so 'out there' but perhaps they won't be in the finished product. Or maybe my brain just looks for that kind of thing.

 

Really good no matter what... most short animations don't do as well.

Thanks Rusty! I did just grab a good poster off the internets, but I've thought about "cartooning" it or toning it down somehow. But it screams mainly because the rest is just line sketches. It'll be more integrated as I go.

I think the pidgins work, but a more obvious and perhaps more readily accessible association would be a picture of his kids. Still, its a nice gag.
