Pesto
Hi all, I am trying my own version of the bouncing ball. I watched Cristin McKee's videos (Anzovin Studios) and I understand the part about being able to rotate with one bone (center bone) and doing squash and stretch with another bone (at base of model), and swtiching between both during the creation of the animation. The problem I am having is when I switch to the bottom bone it won't sqaush and stretch at all. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a bug? Thanks Chris
Eric2575
I haven't done the bouncing ball excercise, but have you tried removing the bone and adding a new one? Or maybe the model somehow got corrupted and you might make a new one? It's just a sphere, right?
Pesto
Yes I have tried that. I even tried to create my own from scratch. I guess I need to know how to attach 2 bones to the same geometry in different locations on the model to control different things. Can anyone help with that? Thanks! thefreshestever
it´s hard to say what you did wrong when one can´t see what you did.. maybe you could upload your project, then i´m sure someone can help.... but one simple question: why do you need bones to squetch and squash a sphere??? Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 4, 2008 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 4, 2008 Attach all the mesh to the rotation bone. then make the rotation bone a child of the base bone. The problem I am having is when I switch to the bottom bone it won't sqaush and stretch at all. Am I doing something wrong or could this be a bug? Caroline
Masna - it's a worthwhile pay for tutorial at: http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/animatecdroms.html I have a few of Anzovin's videos, and they are all good.
Masna
Thanks Caroline, They do look like worth while tutorials. I'll definitely order a couple of them.
Pesto
Robcat - that did it. I should have known better especially after seeing it demonstrated on Jeff Lew's Learning CA DVD about rotating a character using two different bones. Thanks.
