johnl3d Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 This is with multipass two passes This is without multipass aflare.zip I did this in V13 because ( v14 didn' t like flare light added to model) a reported problem. Quote
DanCBradbury Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Is that the look you were going for? It's definitely not real, but very artistic though Quote
johnl3d Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 Had never tried radiosity so decide to try to see how it would react to a flare...part of the weird results might be the ball is reflective but definite not real results Quote
the_black_mage Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 dude that is the most insane look i have ever seen lol. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 7, 2007 Hash Fellow Posted August 7, 2007 hat do you mean by "flare"... a lens flare? Quote
johnl3d Posted August 7, 2007 Author Posted August 7, 2007 Yes the bluish light in the picture is a lens flare and the only light Quote
MattWBradbury Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 What are the settings for your photon mapping variables? Quote
DanCBradbury Posted August 8, 2007 Posted August 8, 2007 John, Are we seeing 'this'? Rusty I'm not john, but no, the poke-a-dotted look is not what you're looking at; that comes from having to small a sample area. What you're seeing is totally different. There is a very strange anomaly that occurs when rendering radiosity, which is more noticable in closed off scenes. If you have immensely bright lights, you will eventually start to see actual shapes appear in the photon patterns that look like objects in your scene, almost like a mirror. It's easily fixable by turning jitter to full. Quote
johnl3d Posted August 8, 2007 Author Posted August 8, 2007 Thanks for the info ..This was a quick idea since I have never tried radiosity before..lots to learn ..will have to play some more pumped up some of the values and got this mini qt flare.mov Quote
