cg sphere set-up

Ok I'm working on an A:M version of the required setup of cgsphere.com but i can't get it right heres what i mean.

this is what i need, witch is also mixed in with the render to show the difference. the guy who made cg sphere wants it a minimum of 95% close, can any one help me.

Okay... I had a look at it... I think it is a bit nearer to the template:

Basicly I used a projection-map (spherical of course) with a bitmap and I used z-shadows to get a more blurred shadow.

 

I cant figure out, why your "ground" doesnt seem to be textured right... here it seems to be okay.

unfortunately he not ok with it yet, all i need to do is lower the hight of the decal. it should be done soon (as in hours mabe).

 

You just have to adjust the "repeat"-value of your projection-map.

 

That should be okay for you too.

Hey Mage..

 

try this.. it'll get it perfect and he'll never know.

 

See if you can get a hirez shot of just the background grid. Then use that as your camera rotoscope (ie. backdrop.

 

Then set up a plane as a reciever for the front projection and voila.. you'll get shadows and the background grid will be perfect.
