dude Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Ok yesterday i started a project...I decided to model a centaur, now remember these pictures are after only 2 days of work. I still need to re-shape the horse section of him, it looks kinda boxy. But anyway just wanted to see what people think so far. -dude Quote
Kamikaze Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Looking good there, I really like the way the beard and hair are. Keep it up... Mike Quote
dude Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 Ive gotten a little work in . I've added hands, and made him taller. I also fixed the horse end of him, I had to change a lot of things, like bring the legs loser in to the body, curving the back, bringing the chest out, and shaping the legs. But its looking better Quote
case Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 hey nice the taller one looks alot better and more changes as i can see anyway nice dude A.K.A whiz keep us posted your pal darter hey nice the taller one looks alot better and more changes as i can see anyway nice dude A.K.A whiz keep us posted your pal darter what the anyway board is acting wierd hmmmm Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Centaurs are so cool! They're one of my favorite mythological creatures, but that's not saying very much because nearly every mythological creature is one of my favorites. Anyway, yours is extremely cool. Good job, and I can't wait to see more. Another friend, -Always Quote
Zaryin Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Reminds me of the first centaur I made: http://www.hash.com/imagecontest/July04/20.jpg Great job so far. I would work on the front view a little though. The legs are sticking out way too far. Quote
dude Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 WOW! The 2 centaurs have a LOT of similarities. I truthfuly have never seen that picture before. I would really like to get the horse texture like you did, how did you do it? -dude Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 hey dude, i like the model. but the horse part seens weird to me. but other than that the man part looks awsem! here a pic of what i mean Quote
jon Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 i'm not happy that his front legs aren't in line vertically with his torso... he looks like he's leaning forward. it is, however a great model! here's my take on a centaur from loooong ago, but when etri gets updated, she'll have a larger, bulkier equine half: http://www.hash.com/imagecontest/August00g...y/jondarkly.jpg -jon Quote
dude Posted July 28, 2006 Author Posted July 28, 2006 I like your centaur! I dont think iI quite unerstand what you are talking about with the legs. Heres is how I fixed the legs from the last front picture Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 He could be talking about the view from the side. The legs on your centaur are slighlty behind the torso, and he thinks they should be in line. Here is a picture that I found online. I drew the pink area to show about where the leg is in relation to the torso. What you have: [attachmentid=18845] What I think he wants: [attachmentid=18844] Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 thats what it was theb butt was to small!!! i knew what it was i just couldn't put my finger on it. Quote
dude Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 OOOhhhhh!!! OK I get it. I think I fixed it....well tell me what ya'll think. And I "enlarged" his butt for you mage. Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 That looks even better! Great job! Perhaps it would be good to make the stomach a bit larger and rounder like in the picture I showed you, but that's all up to you. Anyway, keep up the good work. Your friend, -Always Quote
dude Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 thanks ill try that! But i dont want him to be fat. Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Just because he's a bit larger doesn't mean he'll be fat. It could make him look a bit...buff, as my friend puts it. But cool! I can't wait to see more. As previously stated, your friend, -Always Quote
case Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 wow does he eat anything i agree make him a bit more chubby like but yeah otherwise cool Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 yeah thats what i mean not just the butt ya know. Quote
jon Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 aside from all of the unnatural attention to his butt, i would mass him up a bit. he also looks a little swaybacked... that is, the equine spine bows down in the middle. it all really depends on how realistic you want the model to be, and ultimately... whatever looks good to you. -jon Quote
dude Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 I fixed his back and made him a bit more meaty. What do you all think? I also think im gonna name him ... Any ideas? Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 That's better but at first he looked...a bit...I don't want to be rude or anything...but at first he looked a bit more like a cow. Then after staring at him, he looks a lot better. It might be the belly, I'm not sure. The look is all up to you, though. Anyway, everything looks great. -Always Quote
dude Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 i think the belly is suposed to curve like in this image:[attachmentid=18955] Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 I know. You're right. I just can't figure out what looks strange to me. Maybe it's the fact that it is a centaur They're strange no matter how you make them. LOL. It looks great anyway. Can't wait to see what more you do with it. Quote
dude Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 I think it Looks like a cow because i straighten out his back too much. Cows have straight backs, like this one: Quote
always_a_kid Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 That's it! It's the straight back. The back legs look a bit boney, too, but other than that I think it'll look great. Quote
the_black_mage Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 oh yeah now i see it! edit: also i noticed the thighs were kinda misshaped compared to the other horse. Quote
case Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 hmmm curve his back into a small slump then he we will look more liike a horse Quote
