johnl3d Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Haven't played with expressions for awhile so here is a rough Idea a pose slider controls pointer at left and the rotation of the pointer controls the speed of rotation of the blade on the right roughly [attachmentid=13146] there is some glitches as the speed changes will have to look at that then post the project sped.mov Quote
DanCBradbury Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 I'm not real informed on sliders, but you're able to control the speed of the propeller with a slider? That would be real good for animating something like car tires. Quote
ddustin Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 John, I need something like that, could you email the project to me at ddustin@dustinproductions.com? Thanks, David Quote
Kamikaze Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Another nice one John, Just thought I'd express my feelings... Michael Quote
KenH Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 Looks good John. Making one blade a different colour would make it easier to see what's happening..... David: You might want to PM John with your email....no telling what bots are around. Quote
3DArtZ Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 John, nice! I was messing around with the same thing, but alas it went by the way side...... Nice again! Mike Fitz www.3dartz.com Quote
oakchas Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 somebody else was looking for this very thing... I hope they find it! Very nice start on this John! Quote
aaver Posted January 12, 2006 Posted January 12, 2006 It will be interesting to see what johnl3d has come up with this time For those with further interest, I would recommend this and this thread. Quote
johnl3d Posted January 13, 2006 Author Posted January 13, 2006 late tonight at workshop/free dinner so no update. This is a variation of something Noel posted with a block and arrow I 'm using the value of the angle of the bone controling the pointer along with the chortime and a fudge factor to spin the prop with an expression. The slider rotates the pointer bone 0-90 as needed. I stopped it at two positions to see if it was doing what I thought it would. Quote
johnl3d Posted January 15, 2006 Author Posted January 15, 2006 Latest test with motion blur [attachmentid=13258] speed.mov Quote
Eric2575 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 John, could you post the proj file for this? I would like to use it for the FW190 and my Saleen. Quote
