Hello popster, Work with the stuff you have right now and buy a faster computer in time. Niels.
-
Hello popster, I'm sure you'll see the answer. Niels.

Hello 8up, Knowing is better than reading. Niels. ps. Does a keystroke has a function or has a function a keystroke.
-
Hello Greg, Maybe I will use it some other time, don't know yet, although I do have some ideas 'bout it, but not for usage right away and I do prefer 'mouthy characters' So, maybe in a future project, he will get a big part in some animation. Thanks, Niels. Hello Dark_Jedi, Well, I see the grey as brain, the open sky as openmind, the stairs as path, the cycle of life/learning/experience, and the iron/wood thing have biblical meaning to me. Niels. ps. My stairs does go somewhere ps2. There are more clue's in the picture, to get the picture...

Hello Steven, Finding $300 too high for Animation:Master? Or for your wallet? Do you know 3D or starting from scratch? If it's a 'wallet problem' and not knowing 3D, my advise would be the upgrade-route and $150 books/videos... Niels. ps. It's a magicians box, find your wand. ps2. Knowing enough 3D and having the 'wallet-problem', go for the 2006. ps3. Don't know 3D and no 'wallet-problem', go for the 2006 package and take some vacation.

Thinking out loud, ArgleBargle: It's the offset of the starting color brightness and the recursiveness, that make a darker starting color gets more darkened than a brighter starting color, travelling the same distance within an object. Niels.

Hello ArgleBargle, Thinking out loud, part 2. Maybe working with a lightlist, keeping the object white and changing the color through a special assigned light is an option (for a next time...(?)). Niels. ps. I think the nolidge you're looking for should be asked at Hash, the unusual big offset between 1.0 and 1.01, no accusation made from this side of what so ever.
-
Hello ArgleBargle, Just thinking out loud: Is a workaround changing the transparency, since the IOR function builds his solid pixel from own calculation? Niels. ps. In other words... figure out the transparency differents between IOR 1.0 and 1.01...
-
Hello ArgleBargle, Did you try a grid instead of a cube? Niels. ps. Color matching with, just a white light at 100% in the scene will probably give you a better clue, this for gathering 'adjusting information' in other scenes.

The 'real wood' on this particular object is plastic with wood-print. Niels.

Hello ddustin, Thanks. If you ever animate me in a deadly accident; Trust me, I waved. Maybe we should. Niels.

Hello Steve, Well, alot people aren't even astonished, that their overgrown calculator(slave) can speak to them and slightly takes over; Niels. ps. Is it GOD that sends us the, 'Isaac Isamovs'?

hehe my boss seems to think Im a machine lol .Nice to see you enter Niels Hello Steve, Would you have voted the robot choice yourself? The robots I know, say they are human, don't know their creator and a basic interpreter from twenty years ago worked better. Niels.

You'd be surprised how broadly some people interpret the contest theme. Your image or Steve? Hello Stuart, Did you ask Steve or enough vote's decide? Niels.
-
I sent it to steve@hash.com for the image-contest. Niels. [EDIT] It's no machine nor a robot.
-
Hello Steve, Thanks. Will it be judged "mechanical" enough for the contest? Niels.

Hello Gorf, About complexity and add/select/deform CP's, you should get familiar with CP lock function, I assure you this helps alot. Second, if you add a CP to an existing spline with the [a]-key, you can hold down [sHIFT] and the curve won't deform. Niels.

Hello luckbat, How is Ebon doing? Niels.

Hallo Paul, Ik kan je wel helpen in het nederlands, Animation:Master is veel te leuk om weg te doen. Niels. ENGLISH TRANSLATION: Hello Paul, I can help you in dutch, Animation:Master is too much fun to get rid of it. Niels. niels@degooier.net

Hello bill0287, Click your 5 points, if the "make-five-point-patch"it is not highlighted already, hit the '.' (dot) key twice, if it is still not there, hit 'h' to hide the other points, then hit 'CTRL+a', if it is still not there, go to a different view angle and re-select points. Niels. ps. I click on the spline-direction near the CP I want to select, this 'should' give more luck attempting a good selection the first time. ps2. I still wait for a reaction from a hash-programmer to demystify the five-point-selection... Ergo how does the routine 'look' or 'wait', before accepting.... ps3. Two five-point-patches next to each other, won't work, and should not be used if so.

Hello, As far as I know there is not a way to zoom all views at once, for now the easiest method is; Decide on wich zoomlevel you will be working on, then click on the bottom-right of your screen and copy the zoomlevel, go to a different view, click on the bottom-right of the screen and paste the zoomlevel in the appropriate inputfield, I have to do a 'screen-refresh' [CTRL-SPACE] afterwards. Niels. ps. I am not at a computer right now, were I have A:M, so please ask again to demistify things. ps2. I use v13a8, so maybe the screen-refresh is not needed with v12 or lower versions. ps3. You can select per side, right-click and choose 'Add Image' and rotate it afterwards, but using only 1 image gave me unwanted results.

Hello sfx3d Both can be very usefull; For modeling you should use the mouse and the keyboard, but when painting picture's for decals, a digital pen is really usefull (pen pressure and such). There is a program at make (www.3dpainter.com) when that will be finished, you/we are even able to give the digital pen a proper use from 'within A:M via a plugin'. Some boards provide a pen and a mouse, but trust me, the mouse part 'onboard' is pretty unuseful for the counter part, so first, have a good optical mouse with scrollwheel, after that, the digital pen. Niels.
