  1. Thanks Rodney. Thomas, I notice that some mediaplayers won't play the .MPG version this probably due the different or just wrong header caused by the converterprogram. Since you have v12 and the project-file is v13, let me know if you want a summarized explanation of what I did, this was also the reason I tried to post another version of the example-video. Vaguely I remember there's a Windows MediaPlayer for Apple available. Niels.
  2. I have the uncompressed .AVI at home, so I converted the .WMA to a .MPG Niels. [EDIT] I deleted the .MPG version
  3. A picture of a lathed 3D shuriken('Ninja-star') will do.
  4. Well, if you were making a StarTrek-like series, you could place StarTrek-lingo in the tips.txt, and/or the rememberance of particular keyframe-durations for specifics, you name it.
  5. The quicktime-plugin(version) probably doesn't support .wma, you could try downloading the .wma and play it in the quicktime-player, make sure you have the latest... if it still doesn't play, let me know, I make a quicktime. The project-file is for v13(n), that's the version I used and have installed.
  6. The Newton-physics started as downloadable plug-in, I know it was available for download to spice v12. I think it is the spider-guy site, from Austria.
  7. This answer is build on the fact, you want to go far... To learn it may be enough, but... With this setup, the retiree has even less time
  8. Humans compared to 3D-applications: They grew-up differently but are alike They look different but feel the same The real difference is really me...
  9. Although a simplex representation, I hope this will help you get going. Niels shots_1.wmv example_shot1.prj
  10. I may not be the right person to advise you... I think Walt Disney had already Masters that have the ability to give life through a pencil.(Of course making funny story-(elements) is a different discipline) They did hired apprentices for tweeners and some of them became Masters themselves. I think the guys at Pixar do something similar, they don't really care how you learned to draw, but can you now? If you show them you're a magician they eventually will ask you to use 'their' choice of magicbox. Nowadays it maybe wise to have different skills. Niels
  11. Another usage could be having your own per project 'tips' (and have them available during the different opened scenes, p.a. character-descriptions).
  12. Aha, I don't have internet at home...
  13. I am making it up as I go, so I don't know if it's do-able...but for realistic snow the next approach may apply. Use snow-flake geometry, add a bone, tell bone don't go below Y-axis 0, use newton-dynamics for the weight and add some wind-generators and probably flocking can save you the enormeous amount of work... Some inner-voice tells me already it's not do-able... If it does work, you may want to use cloth and deflectors, to prevent the snowflakes going through things you don't want...
  14. Maybe good advise to you: There's a textfile called tips.txt in your Hash A:M directory. When you add all your 'own' tips, you have a fast look-up and you can delete 'the now obvious'-stuff.
  15. Star Trek has a rerun at the moment in Holland, I also think it's 'hyperdrive' and 'warpengine' but that aside. To make the best of the 'Enterprise goto warp'-shot, they placed a shot before that. The first shot is the camera at speed of Enterprise this make the stars have motion blur. The next shot, the cam is at 'speed' of the stars, now the viewer has the illusion(of gigantic speed), then Enterprise even moves faster with a motion blur-trail till it vanished out of sight. Hope this helps. Niels ps. Maybe layering and add ghost-trail videoFX will do the trick, try-out.
  16. Hello vf124, I hope these knobs will inspire you to make some of your own, for the joy of modelling Niels. Project1_AMv13.zip
  17. Hello vf124, Did you make a good sketch before you model'd it? Niels.
  18. If you can find enough spanish users, maybe you will be able to setup a common spanish-dictionary file. Of course moderated here and there that the phoneme-poses are correct. Well, I don't recall thinking Preston Blair-animations had lousy lipsync, and I'm not specifically a great fan of Bart Simpson, but when I do watch, I don't disturb myself thinking 'lousy lipsync, lousy lipsync'. Things, of course, did change over time, and the newer generation realism-3D-'cartoons' using just a small set of phonemes may look a little funny, on the other hand, film that is respoken, recorded and edited in native-language, that audience will probably don't notice anything strange or weird. Niels.
  19. The phoneme pose set, widely known as the Preston Blair set can be used for many languages. Yes, there will be different characters to a particular phoneme-pose, this is a per language difference. The alternative is get a mirror, or a camcorder and after recording, decide which of the phonemes you will use and thus how many. Yes, I could not find any info on the 'extra-script' they used in the dictionary that came with A:M, but I managed well to do even so in my 'own' language. Niels. ps. I read somewhere, I believe it was coming from Shaun Freeman, that serious lipsync, is no dopesheet-work but is 'craftmanship'; The eye of how a ball can roll or better, how the ball will roll.
  20. Hello TheJunglist, I guess a .TGA having the .TGA transparency channel within the image and adding a circle having the right keycolor for the transparencymap will do, for your animation-purpose. Niels.
  21. Hello TheJunglist, As I may understand your black-border problem, then I would say increase the border, thus make the circle smaller. Niels. ps. What the exact problem is, 'the why', I don't know, it could be a combination of geometry and decal placement or just a wrong distraction of the image used within the programcode, like I said, I don't know, making the border around larger has helped me thus far.
  22. Hello TheJunglist, I don't recognise the problem, but I would most certainly try using a different format than .BMP for this particular decal for transparency. Niels. ps. Use .TGA or .PNG [EDIT] Before people start... Yes, I know a tmap is not transparent itself, or at least it doesn't have to be.
  23. Hello robcat2075, I looked yesterday again and concluded it wasn't the positive/negative problem like I have encountered before. It was exactly on frame 185 that the spline 'moved', I tried to discover what did happen, what I discovered is that the particular spline takes the curve/shape just like the vector-drawmode, only that spline-part, the rest is drawn in curved-drawmode, like I said, I also had this in the final5p render. Niels. ps. I also discovered how Hash can make the rendertime sometimes, half of the (render)time, this will be object/scene depended, but I have no doubt, all will at least somehow benefit from it.
  24. Let's say the animation is 150-300 frames, and a cam is exploring the object, exactly on one frame(181) I see a spline(bias) turn negative where it should have stayed positive or vice-verce, didn't check that. Niels. [EDIT] I did change the model, to get rid of it, but I assume it's still there in an older backup version.
