  1. Here's the project file: Vr. 11.1 Difficult_Problem.zip
  2. Ok, I'm trying to setup my choreography using a smaller mini-sub that I built. As you will see in the "mini-sized" movie clip the sub comes towards the camera from a distance passing over head, the problem is after the sub passes by- the two lights from the front of the sub re-appear and look like they're moving away from the camera. I though originally that the lights in the sub model had corrupted themselves somehow and so I made a new model using just a light this time. In the Project file I'll post shortly; although the light is behind the camera if you look through the camera it appears that the light is in front of the camera. Is this some sort of funky mirroring action that I need to turn off? flyby.mov
  3. Hey man that's pretty good! I can't wait to see the way you make Micks' soup coolers just about swallow his face when he says, "if ya start me up! if ya start me up I'll never stop!"
  4. Wow! This is a really sweet model, I think the textures make it great. Good work!
  5. I don't think you really need that kind of cash to make a great movie, just browse this forum and look at all the various talent. You can go through the WIP section and find the best animators, modelers, texture artists & lighting folks Hash has seen. Most of us can bring to mind at least two or three individuals who have proven over and over again how good they are at building people or just general characters and the same with animators. What we lack is organization-- if someone perhaps at Hash assembled it's most talented users in all the main categories, along with a director who is vision-minded, and a excellent story... what more do you need? Get a distributor and sell it (DVD) along with a demo of A:M and there's your first million. I think Steve Sappington got together with a few other folks and worked on some sort of duck detective movie, or maybe it was something else but I know it can be done without a millionaire funding the project from the beginning.
  6. I agree! The texturing is fabulous! I can't work A:M's texturing system to save my life but you've seemed to have tamed it well. I love the expressions too, hope they come with the model. I didn't read all the replies here, just kinda' skimmed through but are you planning on building the body too?
  7. Okay, here's the image using the fog feature. I left everything set to the default settings since I'm not to sure how the fog works. I'll try adding more lights, maybe that'll brighten things up some.
  8. You folks pick up on everything don't cha? Borrowed it from the SLR... Oh, ... man... that car makes me want to call off from work... um, um, um...
  9. Excellent observation!!! So there is a story behind all this and for the new sub to work, I'm going to have to update the lab as well-- in this case, the story has to change; I don't want to do that... Attached is the unfinished "first sub" which my wife claims looks like the one in The Abyss. ... and I must agree that this sub was "inspired", okay copied from that particular movie but I figured that if I do a little cosmetic juggling act I could conceivably create a different sub with a few similarities to the donor. The new sub gives off the assumption that this film happens quite a while in the future and belongs to a super hero; while the original sub looks as if it could be happening now or 5 to 10 years from now which by the way concurs with the story. So let this be an important lesson to other would-be modelers purporting to build vehicles and or props for your story, be absolutely sure they fit the part otherwise it'll drive you nuts The particle emitter and a lichen type growth is a good idea, I'll give that a go as well-- thanks John
  10. Thanks again for the remarks everyone. Yeah, that's what I kind of figured, there's no real volume between the camera and the objects... Adding bubbles might complete the effect and make you believe that it's actually under water, I tried using the "film grain" option but that only seemed to diffuse the image. I'll give this a go and see how it looks. Eventually this is going to be a movie file so a friend suggested for that I use a light amount of ground up corn flakes in clear water against a green screen. I dunno, might work out... just have to go back and watch the abyss Attached is a snap shot of a "newer" submarine...
  11. Thanks for the comments guys! However, I'm not happy with the sub and have done some work to build a new more advanced looking sub.
  12. I know it's not finished, just looking for C & C...
  13. I did a little more work on the dash today, here's what I have so far
  14. Well there are a few ways to do this but what I did was select the opening or the part that I just cut out, copy/paste and scale it down & size it to fit inside that new opening. After that, you extrude back to form the rest of the vent housing then you just spline in the vent blades themselves and adjust them until they look right inside the vent housing.
  15. I just create the basic overall shape of the object to be built first and then go in and cut out anything that needs to protrude from it like the instrument gauges and so forth. Just cut out the glove box and rendered...
  16. thx for all the replies! ... here's a look at the dash so far.
  17. Installed the seat and finished a lot of the dash & door jams.
  18. One of the best ways to keep your model looking smooth is to model it with as few patches as possible. Your model has more patches than it really needs, try deleting some of those splines and see what you get.
  19. I start with creating a basic outline of the dash and then begin cutting away at key points to make the instrument panel, air vents etc....
  20. Finished the other side of the door jam, now to work on the dash.
  21. A while back I was contacted about donating one of my car models for the 2005 Hash cd, well I've decided to go ahead and finish the interior and basic upper engine components to give it more substance... Been working on the door jam and back seat area, here's a sneak-peek.
  22. I just finished the scaffolds and the statue of the Pharaoh; rendered "with" toon lines.
  23. Pretty Good!!! Do you still have the link to SynthEyes? I lost it when I reformatted my cp...
  24. Ha ha! yeah.... some of them are fairly ugly... Here's a shot of the character I'm going to use as Moses, "ALL" of the other characters are derived from this one character via the distortion mode... "everyone" Nuttin' special.... just painting them in Photoshop.... I do a web search and find photos of real Egyptian hieroglyphs and try to make up some stuff using that information, just not counting on anyone being able to understand how to read it I guess... thanks for the reply
