I am not against short cut, but if you have to deconstruct a model from a tri angle, then you just as well model from scratch. Like I said it took me 3 hours to make a face, and maybe less. Its much easier to build then to destruct and safer too, The program works better constructing then deleting. because after you delete a line, then you have to delete the cps as you go along and thats an extra step. Also most of the tri-angle mesh are very taxing to AM memory. The whole idea of using patches so that you can animate it easier without taxing your system. I am going to shut up now as talking about another 3D program can get you in trouble on the forum.

Not to bust anyone cap, But if you want to press a button and have it make character, then you should ask Martin to make one for you. I made a face so that you could learn from it and it took me about 3 hours making that face. I am hoping that you could see how I did it and so that you could one day make a good realistic face. You guys are talking about using another 3D program to make a face for which you now tell me its not AM capatible. There are Poser program that will make face and body, maybe that's what you would be looking for. The face generator no doubt looks like a good program for whatever it was design for. Talk about dangling a spoil carrot in front of my face.

I watch that toon when growing up, that was cartoon, fully animated, and stretch and squash, nowadays its garbage mostly. There are some good one, but I wonder if leghorn is still playing anywhere. I saw that they are bringing back "underdog" but as a real actor with CG elements. I wonder how much of it is the real dog versus CG? I would love to see the whole episode of foghorn in 3DCG animated cartoon.

very first model remesh for v12-Erica model

Frame 15 is the same as frame 45 the issue isn't the slight jump, the issue is that the overload of particle and dynamics made the whip leave the hands entirely. I think dynamics are a trickier beast to loop. I have a three bone translated to the main bone which is set for dynamics. The legs and arm don't jump, just where the dynamics was applied jump. -
It doesn't seem to interpret you picture into the model, but gives you a rough estimate of the head with a series of slider for variable input. Looks like a nice program, $300 eek! It export to LW6, for which there is a LW6 import/export plug-in for AM from somewhere.

What was the name of the rooster on Hanna Barbara toons? I think I would love to see the whole animation with your version of the rooster Cogburns? Fantastic looking Rooster!

very first model remesh for v12-Erica model

I got it to work in the Chor, but only if I turn off particle for the hair. The only way I know to work around it is to make another pass with head and hair, with alpha channel on and lay it over in layers for the final render. I render from frame 15 to 44 for a cycle loop from a 30 set frame cycle, but probably not enough for dynamics constraint? -

I fix breast and shoulder area. I think I am pretty happy with what I have. onward to lip poses, and finish George Bush head. the 2 project are not related. Special thanks to Anzovin and his TSM2 and weight movers. http://www.gentlechifitness.com/images/erica2.mov 4.5meg -

I rework the rear shoulder and armpit. I couldn't render hair and whip at the same time. I have simulate dynamic on the fly turn on, and I am wondering if I turn it off would make better render? I don't know, if hair is on the whip can't keep up. I had hair and dynamic breast and whip, maybe too much for a 1 meg ram machine? The whip not so important, but was suggested, and I aim to please. My Tai Chi class cancel because of my ride, so this is a gift and a plea to anyone that wants to hire me. I am networking with you, as I have no doubt that you will be famous some day. The basic rule of building a face is using a sphere then copy a section and use that for edge of eyes, mouth, and inner nose. Then you shape the circle with a hole to whatever shape to want. Then connect all the circle to each other, so that animation will be easier. Think circular when connecting the dots. let eyes flow into the mouth and nose and end up with a round face. Building face is like putting onion layers on, as we are..............oops, damn that donkey in Shrek! Keep tweaking it as you see fit. Darkwing.zip

If you never done 3D modeling, there is going to be a learning curve. Not a bad thing because this will give you more time to make a list of settings, object and characters to make. I would start with the simple object first to hone your skills before taking on the harder subject. I don't think anyone will steal your idea for 2 reason, one is that it is so different and wild that only you know what your doing, that nobody else has the clue how to rip the idea from you. Most of the characters are already under the copyright law that there is no money to be made from it. This is a great fan art adventure and I wish you well on the adventure. Have you draw out the character front and side views? While you are waiting for the CD, do this to get started on using the drawings for rotoscoping into the program. Draw all the concept art you can before you even get started on the program. Look like you did some drawing already. Keep us inform on your progress. When you think about making the object think about only making the part that will be shown for the artwork. Think Hollywood and you will save time in modeling, by only modeling the part that will be seen, no sense modeling a whole apartment building if only the front will be seen. Gotham city is a city full of High rises, and you don't want to model the whole city. Start ripping pages from the old magazine of city scapes. Get a file box where you can label all the item of the photo for referencing them. Start a library of reference book of subject from garage sales. I bought tons of airplane, and castle book. Not sure I'll make a movie about medieval knights taking the air into battle. However that movie did get made with dragons that overtook the earth in the future. So anything can happen.

I see the shoulder and I'll work on that, and the whip too. thanks! -
I took a very old model and apply to what I have learn from all these years. Rework the mouth for animation, rework the hip area for smoother bending without using so many fan bones. Use TSM2 and weight mover. Use the latest Hair Particle where before she had a mesh cap on. Use simple Dynamic constraint where before there were two aim bone and a spring system. With the later version of Hash AM, I think I have reduce rigging more then half the time and it works better than before for animation. http://www.gentlechifitness.com/images/EJ_walking_chor.mov I haven't figure out how to smooth out the dynamic constraint in a walk cycle? There is a little jerk between the first and last frame. I just learned the Tai Chi sword form of the 42sword Competition set, and I am hoping to animate some of the moves with her.

Reverse direction morph would be easy to do! You would grab all mesh, and then when you click on scale model button and drag one end to the other. I would probably do it in section with distortion box on. I just tried it and it work perfectly! morph.mov

Thank you, looks like you animated the material as well for the effect. correct? I was wondering how you did that.

How popular is Lulu? I think it looks like a great place, and let me know how it is working out for you. I may try to do some Tai Chi animation lessons. -
I would love to have a look at you project file for the phaser to study. Since you have been so generous in the past, is it possible for you to share your phaser setup? I love it BTW.

Why do human female have 2 boobs? rarely they have twins and having another detrimental of feeding 2? Then you look at Mother cats, cows and pigs and they have more than 2? Its an amazing world we live in and see all the strange possibility, and you wonder about one boobs? I see the movie "war of the world" with Tom Cruise and see aliens with 3 legs and 3 fingers, and I say no way! Often times, I could use another arm or legs.

new model-debating if it'll be a caricature or realistic
ruscular replied to ruscular's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
I got the bump map and eyebrow decal done. I am off to lip pose setup. I fine tune the eye area and lower lip and chin some more. Love to hear what anybody think of this. I don't have 3d paint and I didn't apply any map to the ears. I am trying to figure out how to make the ears match with face with procedural texture maybe? Am I being too picky bothering with the ears? -

I stretch out the mesh flatten, and then made a decal map for it from a wire and shade mode render. Import picture into a decal and applied to mesh. Then I took the picture to the Photoshop program and made another layer where I import a front picture of Bush into the top layer. Used clone tool to fill in the side of face and back of neck. Used the liquid tool to stretch picture to fit with the mesh. I tried to get rid of shadow with a dodge tools and match tone of skin with the rest of face. I left him with some reddish skin color to reflect his condition of being a reform alcoholics and rough Texans hot dry weather, and no sweet way to say it but he's old fart. Every politician age like a prune in a microwave oven in 4 short years. I got lucky and found a nice face picture with good resolution. My next project will depend on who else I can get. -

I still wish I had that 3dpainter for the ears! oh well, I still haven't got the eyebrows on yet. I'm thinking of using a decal on a small mesh over on top of face.
