  1. Having been in the horror that was R&R Vern, I can tell you that undoubtedly there are no hard feelings on my part and I can guarantee you Daniel will say the same thing Good work Dan, looks good. I've visited the site before and appreciate the ministry. Tom
  2. Mike that is great! I too have been looking forward to some updates on your project. Get cracking! Just a quick crit - I know you may not be done with the walk but the feet are too stiff - the forefoot/toebox should be stretching up on the stride forward (maybe not much, granted its a slow deliberate walk), and it should be bending forward on the backfoot as support. The rest of it looks great though! Are those umbrellas slung over her back? That is what they look like... Tom
  3. Dude you are the king! Been waiting for your next model, this looks really great. Tom
  4. Those look great Peter, really nice.
  5. Kevin, that looks spectacular. Hey, how about a Mini Movie entry featuring him - you got til July 31st! Tom
  6. Excellent work.
  7. I figured I would model them normally, might as well stick with what I know. Although I might try toon lines, never done that. Lots of possibilities here...
  8. TBH Mike, I liked your design better. I really think the model loses something as an Incredibles character. Just my .02 - and I miss the cape - even though Edna with NOT approve!
  9. Thanks guys, I liked the characters too but didn't think about them much until just recently since I got AM. Scott that was my thought too - dialogue without mouth poses. I could also have the robot have a kind of "mouth" that is like an EKG line that moves, we've all seen that on robots. Thanks for the story offer Scott - collaboration is certainly allowed, but I think I have a story lined up. But if I change my mind I will definitely PM you I think I'll try and begin building these guys this weekend. Tom
  10. I happen to love comic strips (I'm a HUGE Peanuts fan - collect the strip collections). I even took a class on it while in school. At any rate, here's something I fooled around with like a year ago before I got AM. I'm thinking it might be good for my next mini movie instead of the little rabbit looking creature. C&C welcome. What you see is mostly all I have on him.
  11. Kinda cool, kinda mecha-alienish The chin looks Anime like. You have some splines connected incorrectly. At the bottom of the neck - see that spline that kind of dips down? That is because it is not going straight ACROSS like it shoud, it is turning on an angle. Break it and make sure they are running continous. Keep us updated. Tom
  12. That's a great idea Noah, with the renders/layers. Thank's for sharing!
  13. Laz, looks great. I wonder if you could kick up the contrast a bit, it's slightly muted even though it is a dark scene. The plant (no idea) and the crate look great! Tom
  14. The crowd has spoken - I will attach the ears!
  15. Thanks Scott! I agree about adding too much complexity. I should have stated I want to implement a simple version of his rig. Of course, I have to learn it first! Yes, there will be another contest, it will run every 2 months. So the next deadline will be the end of July. Tom
  16. Here he is with the ear splineage cut in half - which brings up another point. What do you all think - attach the ears or not?
  17. Ah good point Ben. Maybe this has been one of my problems. I'm still not clear on exactly how to set bones/cps - as far as what is best and different people say different things. Mike 3dartz tute's take a method of a lot of well placed splineage with good results, but there's more than one way to skin a cat.
  18. I was thinking I needed them to make sure I could bend them enough, but if you think they can be simpler I'll simplify them.
  19. Here's my next character(s) for the next Mini Movie I'm going to do. He will have a mouth, and I hope to do some dialog this time. (We'll see if I can grasp David's mouth rigging method!) It started as a critter I kept sketching over and over at work on my notepad. He isn't as smooth as I'd like, and I always have that problem. Anyway, I had thought of putting really short hair on him. I tried making hair but it never showed up. I love how some of Nancy's stuff has come out. If anyone knows of a good hair tut, let me know. Tom
  20. Cool! I like the "chunky" style, Mike - Are we gonna see some legs and some movement?
  21. Nice! Care to share a wire and tell us how u did it?
  22. I'd love to see the Dr. Seuess models, and really great work!
  23. The metal looks great - anything you wanna share (In the mat lab)
  24. The plane is excellent. But it is indeed too dark. How about an outside scene with a skylight? That would be better to really see the plane. Sterile.. depends on the scene...its hard to tell right now.
  25. I think he looks good, the improvements are good. My suggestions are: 1: The wings are too small. I know he is a characterization, but all chars are based on reality. Take a look at some real bees. His wings would be a bit more pointed down as well. Check out the honey bee from Cheerios. 2: The upper body is a bit human like for my tastes. I feel like it should be more cartoony. It's the chest area that does it I think - the arms are fine. He really should have a insect like chest moreso. All in all, very nice though! Look forward to seeing him animated
