  1. This feature has been discontinued for some time. If someone has included their email address in their personal information, you can send an email by clicking on the link at the bottom of the column at the left of the members profile.
  2. I just modeled the body for my first character using Alonzo's Tutorials located HERE. Click on the Page 1 link. They are simple, basic and easy to follow. May seem boring to those who like video tutes, but I liked the fact that they stood still long enough for me to study them.
  3. I've come to call that technique "Frankenspleening."
  4. Good call, Hutch. (Slaps self on forehead)
  5. That's a stumper for me. I downloaded your project and made a patch. I don't know why yours doesn't render. (I moved your splines around a bit to make sure the CP's were attached.)
  6. Where the splines intersect, are the CP's "welded" together, or are they just next to each other? In the view from the front(Num Pad 2), it looks like these CP's are connected. but when viewed from the top (Num Pad 5) you can see that they are not actually "welded" together. therefore they will not make a patch.
  7. In the immortal words of the Sheriff in Jaws (Roy Scheider): "Gonna need a bigger Boat!"
  8. ! Thanks for the tip, Paul. I've always drank mine "neat". What size straw? The skinny straws that come with the sissy drinks? Or the even skinnier stirrer straws that the "finer establishments" provide to stir the Jack in the coke?
  9. A bottle of 35 year old Macallan perhaps? Or a more modest Glen Rothes? Out here the prices on single malts have taken a horrible jump. That, plus a go-round with Hep-C have curtailed my research into the elixer and put a resultant dip in the Scottish economy. (the Hep-C was conquered with 6 month of Chemo, but that's another thread) So enjoy it for me, as well as yourself, fae alba. Looking forward to your short. ( My characters name is Knuckles McGurke, haven't asked him yet if he's Scottish or Irish. Just thought it sounded like a funny name. You'll understand better when you see the short.)
  10. If we damaged your funnybone, you can always fix it with tome Scots tape.
  11. LOL This thread was so seriously hijacked a few miles back that I started another one for rigging "The Earl of Tredor". This one was becoming too much fun to interrupt for stuff like actual rigging. I must admit, though, that I was expecting more and better (or worse) wordplay. I'll try to think of a suitable punishment.
  12. You could start with These.

    My First Rig

Questions in two areas: 1. Splinage: What would be the optimum number of splines for joints? (Wrist, elbow, shoulder, etc) Do you need a spline for bicep flex? 2. In the instructions it says I need the "Mirror Bones" plugin, symmetrical model (CFA). In the unzipped folder, I have the Mirrorbone, MirrorConstraint, and the RMWeight .hxt files. Ho do I know its the Symmetrical (CFA) version?
  14. LOL, the spelling error is mine, but not mine alone. Before posting I did a search and got THIS. My friend did mention something about a Glascow Kiss? Don't know about Tudor or Fordor, but my daddy said I was conceived in a hatchback.
  15. I have an associate at the music store where I teach, whose name is Armstrong. He assures me steadfastly that the clan MacKnuckles hails from Glascow.
  16. Any thread of mine is dedicated to bad puns! Thanks for the heads up , fae alba, wouldn't want to offend any Scotsman. I have kilt too many brain cells in my years of research of single malts fed by my desire to one day play St Andrews.
  17. LOL. Thanks Paul, my characters name is Knuckles McGurke so he's probably related to McKnuckles. You never know about those Scottsman. They'd probably settle it over a dram of single malt and head to the links. I'm gearing up for my first short. Should be fun
  18. All of a sudden I was having problems rendering TGA decals, using 15.e. I tried everything but kept getting artifacts. I finally installed 15.0J+ and now things are rendering right again. I put jeans and a t-shirt on Knuckles and deleted the underlying body mesh. I think I'm gonna leave him bare-foot and rig his toes while I'm learning to rig. So over the next couple of days I'll be studying up on the 2008 rig.
  19. So when you burn the file to DVD you include a code of some sort that says to the TV: Hey, Dummy, widen these pixels out to use your whole screen? or something like that.
  20. Oh, what the heck, I'll get the digital version too. In the immortal words of some obscure tennis shoe company: "Just Do It!"
  21. Just how much demand are you trying to create, Robert? I'll take one each of the coffee table version and the Spiral bound.
  22. LOL, Thanks, Nancy, The title of the thread (which is the title of the short) has probably mislead more than just yourself. The curious world of the Transvestite will not be explored in this vid. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) Knuckles is a thoroughly straight young man, and not a cross dresser as implied. Although he is a bit of a nebbish. Storyline is him on a web cam showing pictures of his new girlfriend to his old girlfriend. That's about all I can say without giving too much away. I project it to be about a minute long and If I can match the image I see in my mind it should be hilarious. All those Art Nouveau images paid off big time in modeling training. I'm quite pleased with Knuckles as a first character from concept to shaded render. So, I'm sorry to disappoint you on the subject of his wardrobe. He's not getting my camisoles. I guess I'll give him a pair of jeans and a t shirt before I rig him.
  23. got the feet done and attached! My very first model is complete. Cept for that rigging thing!. I want to put in Mark's 2008 rig. It will obviously be a learning process. Mark, did you ever make an installer for your face rig? That was very, very cool, and I'd like to put it in Knuckles if at all possible. I plan on using this character in various things so I'll be studying Caroline's thread when she clothed Gala, I believe. Didn't she make that a plugin? Here's the feet I modeled and Knuckles in his Speedo's until I figure what clothes to put him in.
  24. Very Nice animating, Hutch, when you get the cloth worked out it should be very, very nice. Hair looked good.
