  3. pretty simple i have a jet plane that has jet engines and i need an effect to show that its working something like this would be nice Image location i know that this image is attached to a modeling guide but the guide is to the wrong part of what i want , i want the flame effect not the how to build a nozzel
  4. ok sorta like this Lightning something similar to this with the spokes at the top conecting on a cetral point
  5. OK short and simple i have a scene where a bot triggers a emp device , id like to have a explosion based on an expanding sphere comprised of lightning or something that resembles the such , I'm not expecting much but any idea are welcome

OK i better explain myself first, i need to be able to make a part of my model glow but not have the glows fading light at the edge of the model , i don't have a pic to show u of what i need , but maybe think lines of power running along a wall they glow but just enough to light up the whatever there power is flowing through
  7. ok i thought my comp would have been goo enough but apperantly i have a model that even in wire frame lags when moved , i downloaded a free base female and managed to successfully import it to AM it is a bit complex to make for ecelent detail, is there any thing i can do to make it go faster or am i just gona have to deal with it
  8. System: vista premium 64bit Proccessor: 2.4 giz quad memory: 4.1 gigs HD 1 tera + GPU: can play crysis at max detail nuff said 1sts cause : tweaking a mat file will cause the program to stall then crash on a pretty large basis 2nd cause : applying/rendering of mats when on models themselfs
  9. ok this may be something im going to have to deal with but my AM has started crashing a lot , mostly when im making materials or saving rendered animation , is there something i should set to fix his?
  10. ok this should be simple but apperantly my brain lacks the ability to function correclty today. im trying to make a base os sorts in a mountain side but i cant get a mountain that actualy looks like a mountain when rendered. is there a good way to create a mountain that i dont know off or do i need to remove more blood from my caffine stream heres a quick pic of what im trying to get sorry i only had paint to work with , and size wise a persion is only about the sise of the "o" in the word road pic111.bmp
  11. as a fellow newb i have encountered this problem my self and it comes down to one solution. add more cps. if you have a tube that needs a part pulled out using a single cp add a point to each other part of the tube to make a complete ring so to say . it may take a little longer to get it looking the way you want but all the surfaces will render, which is what I'm guessing your problems is.
  12. ok maybe a little closer to what i need, does any on have a mat file that will make a square grid effect, ie 1 color is the lines and 1 is the other space

OK heres basically my problem , i need a material that will cover an object to show that an object needs to go here. and as specific as that was ill elaborate. i have a models that has multiple peaces that i will be using in a build your own sword kinda thing , what i would like is before they select a color they can see the blades type ie long and skinny or big and bulky. so i need a material that looks good some what transparent and looks like your building something
  14. ok i have apperantly turns on some aspec of the program that i wish to turn off, but i cant find out how, generalys when maiking a model hiting the numpad keys shift to a certain axis alowing me to see the grid and make modifications etc. no when i hit it i get a perspective look at the designated axis and its making it very dificult to move stuff to correct positions
  15. OK so i looked through my am (have 15) and i cant find this "AMLiquid" feature your taking about , but i did notice my library is empty so if its in there that may be why, other than that where is this feature if its not in the library

OK i have been fuddling around with the material editor trying to get something like a blood spatter effect, its not blood thought more like oil but most people know what a blood spatter looks like , the best i have been able to produce is a orb that slowly bubbles then does nothing , any suggestions as to the correct settings i should use?, the effect is to show a bullet puncturing a hydraulic hose if thats any help
  17. um yes i have switched it to eular , my problem is that the rotation number is like 14890 and im starting to lose the correct count
  18. all im looking for is a texture/mat file that will produce a nice shiny metal effect and a texture/mat file to produce something like rubber, im not good enough to be workign with lighting and such so i generaly go with a standard sun light that sets the whole field to......... well visible

OK i recently posted a post with a test of a helicopters main roter , now i have been testing some spin speeds and have gotten mixed results , apparently the blades need to spin The right way or every one dies. my questions is that in order to get some of the good spin speeds i have to rotate 4000+ degrees a second and that number is getting pretty big like 12000+ 8-9 minutes into the animation, i heard a while back there was a way to make a item rotate X amount of time by using some pose option but the only ones i could find where on of or 0-100% . any one know how to do this?
  20. my attempt was to get the actualy motion of the blade to look like a real copter i put the actual model together in 15 mins
  21. OK last knite i decided to try and make a rotor blade for a helicopter it looks OK i guess , just wondering if any of you have any idea to make it better rotor1.mov
  22. all right , i have a bubble with a nice looking plasma effect to it. what i need to know is is there a way that i can set it to invisible but have some sort of object cause it to show up , even if its just a on/off , but variable would be nice , my objective is a bullet impact being deflected

OK second question for the day , i currently have a rather complex model that has many different colored sections with lots of colors, it has go to the point where the list of groups for each color has gotten a mile long , is there a way to say put all groups on leg 1 into a folder and all groups from leg 2 into a different one
  24. the pic only shows what the shape of the wheel is , what I'm looking for is a way to make the texture that would normal go on a high tech wheel such as a shiny metallic for the rim and a rubber for the.... well wheel. i have tryed a few material file combinations but have so far failed horribly , also I'm not on my animation comp so i cant post the file but will hopefully be able to soon
