  1. ok long story short i started working ona new project and then things went bad take this image for example i dont know what i did but now AM renders way pixilated and i dont know how to fix it , ow this image is rendered as 800X600 but it seams flater than that and its not using a camera
  2. or presuming that the model is ok for public viewing upload it and let others try and import it
  3. hopefully should Be simple , i have a convoy rolling down a road when they get blow up as the survivors look to wards a hill with a road on it this mega tank slowly rolls over the top through a red Haze created by all the fire. only problem is i don't know how to make a haze
  4. ok working on a project that has a lot going on and a lot of item i need lined up , only problem is that said items are not lining up well in the choreograph , is there any way to snap to grid in the choreo window?
  5. trying to get a computery scene going with glowing frame work. the render as lines options seams to work to make all the line show as needed, only problem is that it still renders surfaces is there any way to fix this so that only lines show
  6. OK i have a project for school in which i need to take a realistic earth model and then zoom into ground level , like the spy satellites in the movies , once it gets to around 200 Feet the ground will change to blue print style rendering . my problem currently is 1 how do i make a realistic earth model , using real map topology, ie Africa and Canada are not joined at the hip 2 how do i zoom in in a realistic manner any help would be appreciated
  7. ok heres my test i just cant get it to work right project.zip
  8. OK hopefully simple ( though often not) is there a way that i can take a line comprised of 2 CP and ad 3 more at 25, 50, 75 % along the line , i know that you could do something like this on a line thats up and down or sideways but I'm talking like at various angels
  9. alright John i have been fiddling around with the gradients for a bit and have at least gone some where but not to the point i need to be. so far all i have been able to do is get a small part of a test to change a minuscule amount. from what i know you create a new material and set it to gradient you then set the 2 different values of which one is the same color as the rest of the tab the other is that teal glow. i made the test tab 200 Cm X 50 cm with enough CP to make something that looks good this may be the part where I'm failing but i set the start at 0 cm and the finish at 200. and used a pose to do this ( thanks for that help btw) at this point i rendered and the spoken above result occurred
  10. Ok thanks , with your tut i managed to find that i had a whole window missing ( slider bar) so know i can try this again On another note it appears that gradeants hate me...... sigh
  11. yes i understood how you grouped the shape , or to that matter i saw you had the sections of the grid that where to light up selected as one group no, i have played with gradeants but so far have not had anythng turn out Barly , i can set up on/off poses but when trying to create percentage ones i cant seam to ge tthe timing to work, iv been told your supposed to use a slider bar but but when creating the pose none show up. i have been able to use a on/off pose to make a building of sorts unfold but thats about it
  12. well john that pretty much nailed the effect i was going for , only one problem , i downloaded your test project but cant quite figure out how you did it , do you have a walkthrough or tutorial thats shows how to set one of these up
  13. the glowing ones, pretty much the whole model will be standing still and just plain Grey , once something triggers the eyes of bob open and the lines( the glowing part) like on the sample start glowing , at the moment they simply turn on , i would like a way to have them slowly radiate out wards till there all lit
  14. Ok heres one of my sample plates i made to give you an idea I want to know its theres a way i can have the glowing parts start "off" and then have the line light up from one end to the other.
  15. Ok for kicks and giggles i decided to try and make a model of some anchient guardian of sort i really dont know what to call it so ill just call it bob. like all anchient guardians i wanted to have it have the glowing lines thing and while i managed to get it to look good i did want it to "start up" with the lines flowing from the center. im sure there is a easy way to do this but so far anything iv tryed looks to square for lack of a better term
  16. ok while my tests with the material effector have been hit or miss i dont think its what i need , with the bolean curret only the exact surface it hits is changed in color it doesnt have a faded effect around it.
  17. ok heres the test project Project3.prj the material effector is attached to a cone of sorts but apears not not function still , even after much tinkering
  18. ok heres what i tryed but it wont seam to work 1 made a grid with distortion so that it looks liek terrain, colored it green 2 made a roundish cone thats solid, ie no holes 3 right clicked on the model in Project Workspace -> New -> Material effect 4 applied a metal looking material to the "effect" drop down 5 placed both items onto the chorerographies 6 moved the cone to cover half of the terrain as a test 7 rendered 8 what came out was simply the cone showing through the ground i have not been able to get the effect specifyed, am i doing something wrong or did i just set something up wrong
  19. OK hopefully simple answer to a irritating problem . is there a way i can change the texture on one surface to that of another. OK what I'm trying to do is sort of a nanite eruption. theres a grass filled valley that gets hit with a missile of sorts, from the missile metallic lines radiate out wards eventually turning the entire valley into a metallic version. i already have the mats/textures for it i just have yet to find a application method. i know that Boolean cutters can create a new texture into what ever they cut in but i need something that mearly changes it not remove it out right
  20. ok futhering my work on trying to make my dark matter effects i found that one basic once can be created by using toon lines, but this seams to be a full on off aspect. is there a way to render one object with toons on while the rest of the sceen stays normal?
  21. john sorta has what i have amassed myself with 2 objects one jet black the other "colored" the main problem is that the colored object is covering the spear instead of just an aura like in the picture the center of the beam is pure black surrounded by the colored part. is there any way to set an object to show complealty through another
  22. I'm trying to recreate an effect i saw in a game. to the point its making a dark mater blast . a black liquid ball with a white Aura like outline. i have been experimenting with creating a black water material with varied success. but the aura is still "not happening" . i have tryed to create a larger form of the bolt and tint and tweak it but it in some way or another covers the black core which is supposed to be pure black. does any one know way to do what I'm asking. i found this image online, its a beam version but the effect is simmilar
  23. ok i managed to find the old post i made about making crystal and such and yes have been able to make some pretty interesting objects with said settings. my current question know is how do i make the inside have a cloudy crystal effect to it i managed to find an image from a game with such an effect Picture hopefully some one will have an idea on how to do this
  24. um dont mean to sound picky but can we return to the general topic of does any one have basic female and male models ?
  25. while i like the idea of a central model data base for me all im going to to is litteraly strip the model of any cloths and build/draw a suit around it
