  1. ok heres the deal i have need of a laser shot for an animation i have tryed using just a rendered line but that wasent glowy enough and then i tryed to use a pipe that was good but some how went all the way back to the start causeing issues how can i make a laser that fires and then ends
  2. ok i set a 6 point crystal to render as lines but fo some reasion its still rendering the surface as well s the lines is there a way to turn this off.
  3. if youv ever played any sci phi games you will notice that they usualy have a force field or bubble that has a really cool plasma effect , halo 1 in the control room for example , i was woundering if there was a way to do this in AM sort of like this with out so many colors and transparent rainbow image and sorta lke this, its the one on the bottom as i couldent add the pic here as saying something about picture extentions picture any other vareation on this would also be appreceated as i need some thing workable before flashy
  4. ok hopefully this will help in this pic iv made a blob with a few points on grid line and a few not on them now in this one iv moved it up a few and wat tto snap the 3 points that where on the grid to the grid points closist to then new position but having the other connected points move that same distance but not to a grid point

Ok go into top view and use the lath tool to create a circle it will usualy have 8 points , now what i want to be able to do is to is to grab one of the points like say the bottom one and snap it to a grid point with the others following the same path so it remains a circle and not some blob thing.
  6. i have a complexe model thats set to a grid of 5X5 and have a circle with 8 points , the whole lathe thing , but i need it to be connected to a specifing point as to not and seams , is there a way to select say the bottom point and snap it to point A with the others folowing but the circle not being destorted
  7. Im currently trying to create a model from some pictures of a character, does any one have a tutorial on how to make a good model fom picture? note that most of the pics arnt a direct 90 degrees onto the face
  8. after getting the upgrade i am missing models most noticable the gia girl model where can i get these back
  9. just wondering how if possable you can do a plasma like effect like you see in star gate sg1 , or a shield like effect as seen in supream commander
  10. being quite new to am my self i have found a way that makes modeling any thing in am some what easy , and thats simply to create an image of what you want in your head then wrap that in a net that is what the wire fram should look like in am , sorry i cant be of any more help
  11. Ok i know this is going to sound like a compleatly dumb question but iv have some how managed to lose my manual , ok how do i take a image file say a jpeg of sand and import it into AM
  12. it the actual animation mode how do you change a path , i put one down in top view but need it to go up a hill but cant get it to do so
  13. ok which constrant would i use if i only want a limb to move in one axis, like a light switch
  14. ok i watched the tutorial one the flower and bones but one bit of info still iludes me, on may of the medels that come with AM the bones have a preset location of where they can go such as only being able to go up or down on the x axis 30 degrees or the such but for the life of me i cant find out how to do this
  15. i have a 4 leged model and have placed bones in the correct location but i cant find out how to attach one bone to another , i looked through the online helpers but the use a pre built bones model , any help would be nice
  16. well the true format is .3ds and its the only format that is shared between both programs
  17. im using the tool know as a rotoscope to help we draw some items but for the life of me i cant get the rotoscope to show more that what seams like 25% transparancey is there a way to change this to 100% as i am using a pict with may dark colors and they are not usable when its dimed

  20. im trying to transfer units out of one of my fav games to make a animation but theres a problem with the transfer it starts by looking like this then turns out like this note im useing 3dmax 9 to remve it from the game , exporting a a max file , then importing it using same , no tmatter what range i give it it does not work , this image is also the best result that was done if any one knows about how to solve this it would really help
  21. im trying to make a mech of sorts and as you know they usualy are not very curvy. how do i make a sharp edge on a model with out it turning into a black brick this is the best i can get but there are still distortions in the back , alos the have been black blob things as well any help would be most apreceated ow the only way i managed to do this is to set inmagnitude and outmagnitude to 2%
