ok i did a tread post a while ago and got a few helpfull suggestions but unforunatly due to the complexity of the movie im making it was going to be litteraly hours of work ( think 30Plus models fighting over a landscape) so i was wondering wourl there be a way to set a part of a model ie the tracks/tire to change the color of the ground it moves through ?

in part of my movie that i am making its from the vision of one of my units and i have built a HUD to use only problem is i cant get it to stay exsactly where it is in realation to the camera no matter how many frames i edit , the hud is a transparent set of surfaces that allso has some movement itself . any ideas

ok some of my models have goten really complex so i was wondering if groups can be merged as i have like 200 on this one model and all there for is 5 differant colors

ok i need a lensing effect, 1 for thrusters exaust and one for a shock wave. any ideas

ok i was wondering if there was any way to remove the lines of a model but not the points that make them , i know due to importing models i have had this a few times but i though this was just a clean up issue.

OK as a fellow newby i have these words of advice if you are using Block type building or straght line construction it best to just create a picture and copy it using a rotoscope. as AM uses spines not lines ( no pun ) and every model that iv pulled over from those type of applications turns into a blooby mess that takes 2 hours to rebuild. Eather that or i need someone to teach me how to do a direct transfer of a .3DS model only importing the points and not the lines.

Ok after a while i managed to convice a friend to use AM ( ya ) however this friend is more of the elf and fairy kind of designer rather than my self who is robotic and as such i have no models of bipeds that arnt robots of some type. i was wondering if any one had a easyaly changable model of a guy and a anaitomicaly correct girl ( ie has a full body not just holes where the cloths go ) that my fried can use , and ironicaly i dont have a cd any more ( cause we both used 15.0) and i cant seam to find anything in that data base thats for older versions

Ok i have a model of a tank and as we know they touch the ground ( usualy) i was wondering if there is any way to make tread marks appear or a easy way to deform the ground to show a tread mark ( allso applicable to walking bots)

honistly any thing that would make this easyer would help i have 9 bots with 4 legs each , they walk for 20 od seconds and then they get blown up. thats a whole lota individual frames to use

OK its a 2.4 gig quad core maximus Motherboard Geforce 8800GTS 3 gigs of ram Basicaly a high end gaming computer( an di know there are better one but dont bug me about that) Im running vista premium , and have the latest version of AM for that reasion Ow and in case adding those links are bad by some rule thats egsactly where i got them from

ok i know that an action is pretty much the model doing something on a miniture coreograph ( yes i cant spell) which is done repetadly in the animation and i have some questions 1 is there a way to have a action play , say a fire truck deploying its stabalizers , do nothing for 5 mins movie time, then do a reverse to pack up 2 is there a way i can have a action automatical continue so i dont have to ad it in every 5 seconds, such a a trning wheel 3 is there a way i can have an action turn the transparance from 100 (solid) to 0 ( not visable) as i have tryed with poses and have had no success

ok heres the deal when ever i create a model that is some what complicated ( more that 50 CP) i will try and rotate the image to color something or to add mor e and only a small part of the screen keeps up the rest (95-98%) of the previous image stays locked in place and wont let go for a few seconds and by then iv lost any points i was cusrrently working with , has any one experanced this or fixed it?

Only problem with that is that the bot has 4 legs and even if i use a spline thats perfact to the vurrent path there will still be legs going through as like i said im using a smooth rolling surface

ok i have fianly managed to rebuild most of my models that i lost and i have created a basic corograpy ( i know i cant spell) any ways i have 9, 4 leged robots who have a basic walking animation and i have them walk along a predefined path and the leags move correct to the speed ( that took a while ). my question is seeing that i have used a rounded terrain instead of blocks is there a way that i can make it so that the legs on my bots dont go through the ground. Ie touch it but go no further.

ok seeing as its sand i think its going to be seamless but in the chance its not how do i make it seamless?

Ok my models or more presisly my terrain in a movie im makeing has gotten to the point where i can no longer rely on color to show what i want to that end i have aquired a 500X500 pixel image of sand that i wish to use only problem is that only 1/10 of the ground area will be sean at any one time. to that end i need to know how to "tile" this image on my terrain model so that when close up it looks like sand. ( if youve play supream commander youll know what i mean)

ok i know that i have a pretty go .mat collection that came with AM but i was wondering where i can get more as i only have one water type mat and its a dark ocean and that does not look so good for a puddel

ok is there any way to have a model go from shaded to wireframe in a percentage ? IE in some space games they have a weapons selection and the textured model would turn into a wireframe where they explained some of the inside parts

Ok is there any way to make the aim at constrant last for more than one frame ?

ok with all the help i got from you guys here i final had something going my final model was a giant ring with 8 crystals that shot lasers and it looked really cool , howevery during modification to make one of the laser track a target , then i got a code 35 error folowed by a looping save error and then finaly AM crashed alltogether , now that i open the project back up the models names are still there but there empty files and i dont have previous files versions. is there something i should make sure i do so that this does not happen again

is there any way to have aline , preferable glowing going between 2 objects, i tryed to make a good laser using a long pole thats set to glow but its to hard to aim a pole when the thing shooting it is is rotating as at the moment i have to aim on every frame and thats like 5000 frames ( i gave up at 200)

ok if you have seen any movie / game with jets youll know what i mean , when they go fast the wing tips give of a smoke like line , was woundering if any one new how to do somehing like this

ok heres the deal 1 have one tank modle comprised of a base bone the turret and the gun barrel i have it sit still from time 0 to 5 seconds from 5 to 10 seconds the turet moves left 45 degrees then right 90 then back left 45 from 10 to 15 seconds the barrel does the same thing only up and down and from 15 to 20 seconds the tank moves forware out of frame as far as a know this was simpal but when moving through the animation using the preview bar starting from frame 0 it starts moving forward and the 2 seperate turret movments are combined as well , what am i doing wrong

Ok maybe i should explain this better say i have a cube and have set the whole thing to grey , know i want to make 1 side red i select the 4 points on one side and select red , the group forms but the surface is still grey.
