ok iv made a modle and colored the whole thing grey but im trying to make a few patches red but when set its still grey am i doing something wrong

ok this one is not so much a AM question as it is a AM forms question , in a lot of the post you have both the rendering and the PRj files as a link , yet i cant find a way to upload eather of those , how do you do it?

Ok maybe you guys didnt quite get what i need help doing. ( though the help given is still quite usefull) i want to take a .Jpg Of marble and turn in into on of the materials in the library i dont know how to turn a .jpg into a .mat file and every time i try and create a new material it wont let me select the jpg to import. how do i do this

ok i know how to use the pose option to move a model into a pre defined postion , during a few of the much appreceated help topics iv put up plp have said to use a action to get something to do something , i dont know how to set one up or even how to get started , any help would be most appreceated

I have encountered a problem like this but i have yet to use textures when it happenes , my usual fix is to cut the spesific area out and rebuild it , usualy works -
ok after 8 hours of modeling and shaping ans the such i have a model of the monkey lord form sup com , no i need help i need to know if any one know how to do this kinda laser

ok i found out that having a spline in the main animation screen works really well for moving a flying object , how every it seams to auto set the movement from start to end without proper setup Ie i wanted a "asteriod" to over 50 secons slowly come in and eventualy hit the ground , but it hits at 20 seconds and for the life of me i cant figure out how to change this

i was wondering if there was a way to set a object to rotate as long as its pose is turned on , i have a mega laser cannon with some rotatin parts and they spin quite fast so rotating this every 2 frams would be quite anoying .

ok iv been told that by using this constrant you can make it so that a bove can only move in specific directions , i have robotic arm and it has 3 joints 1 goes left and right , while the other 2 are up and down , (think a tarancalas leg) how do i set these up to work correctly as i tried myself but they didnt apperantly kick in

ok if your every played any sci phi shootied your bould to find a deploy able gun , and that usualy mean that the barrel extends to a useable position i need to know what restrant will only allow the bone to move forward and back but not rotate or side to side. also what would make it so a object when looked down apone only rotate but not tip

ok i know now how to get the pictures into am but my original question is still un answered and thats how do a take say a marble texture and put it into the librarys so that it can be used like the built in ones are

i recentaly saw a cool wizzard use in witch a font wizzard was used to make a fish that was golden brown and still smiling and that got me thining , is there a wizard that would take a picture and create a model from it ( noting that it woud need to be cleaned up ) .

ok im making a gun with a extendable barrel in the top down view the barrel is facing north , i now that there is some sort or constrant usable but i dont know which to try

with all the help if been getting im getting close to rendering my first longer that 5 secons movie but there is one last thing ( at least for know) that i still dont know how to do or at least correctly , the movie is going to have a car getting chased by a plane of sorts and there is going to be shooting . my questions are , A is there any way to do a good muzzel flash, B since there is going to be at least 50 differant shots fired do i have to have 50 models in at the start and

ok im using a singal line set to render as lines with glow and its about 5 cm diamiter .

ok here the deal in order to make a laser that actaly works for what i need i had to make the beam about 10000 cm long , my question is is there a way to asign a model a value that would cause any part of another model to no longer show up , ie putting a block of this model behind a giant robot so the beam is hitting it and not just passing through it?

ok im making a car of sorts and got the basic model riged but it has ocured to me that i dont know how to make the wheels turn execpt by frame by frame actualy rotating them , is there an easyer way to do this?

ok im trying to do a wepon system with a laser blast but for some reasion when ever i place the shot at the time its ment for it gets placed at the very begining in some weird place. all i want to know is how should i put a lasser shot in with out it being placed at the very start of the movie , or does every model you are going to use have to be in at the start?
