Started playing around with an idea. Let me know if this guy demonstrates a personality. If not what could be different so that it would for you?

Well, here's my two cents:

There's something weird about his arms. The guy's pencil body curves like rubber, but his arms have hard shoulders and elbows. Also, in proportion to his body they seem really thick--half the width of his body, basically.

Based on his floppy eyebrows and lips, I'd recommend going the same route with his arms. Make them more like rubber hoses, less like human arms.

You could go with the standard white cartoon gloves, or try pink ones, to match his eraser hair. That might look interesting.

Good luck!

And here's my two penneth (as we say in England) ;)

It looks good in the stills but a true test of his personality is to animate.

Maybe you'd like to post a couple of short tests?

Best of luck! :D

Man.. you English people sure don't know how to speak English.....

About the Pencil guy.. he looks great.

I'm just starting out and had trouble modeling a bar of soap so I can't give any suggestions..

I agree with luckbat that the arms may be a little thick.. but what the heck do I know. :)

... and before anyone flames me.. the comment above about English was just a joke and yes, it was intended to sound ridiculous. (humor doesn't com across online sometimes, especially bad humor). ;)

Ok here's some changes. Thinned out the arms, changed the hands to white, added some roughness to the eraser. I'll post some anims of facial poses later today.

Looks like a mirrored long lost uncle of the pencil guy from an older CD They wear their erasers differently :D
