rusty Posted January 4, 2020 Posted January 4, 2020 Hi! I know or think it’s possible to do a particle rocket flame in AM. Are there any tutorials or guides you can point me to? Thanks! Rusty Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 4, 2020 Hash Fellow Posted January 4, 2020 Hi Rusty! "Rocket fire" can mean many thing. Many different things. Can you show an example of what sort you mean? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 4, 2020 Hash Fellow Posted January 4, 2020 There's a pretty good rocket flame done with streaks in this thread... https://forums.hash.com/topic/19039-rocket-engine/?tab=comments#comment-148913 Look at the WMV later in the thread. Quote
rusty Posted January 5, 2020 Author Posted January 5, 2020 Thanks Robcat! I'll have to play around with it. Rusty Quote

I was able to get the AVI to play in Window Media Player if anyone is having trouble. Quote
rusty Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 Hi! Thanks john! What I was looking for is more like this. I tried this in AE but it doesn't look that good. Still working on it. Happy New Year Rusty Quote

rusty Posted January 7, 2020 Author Posted January 7, 2020 I got what the tut offered and adjusted it a bit. You see it in the first scene of the attached prototype (which is nothing to write home about yet ;-( ). Test for SS ad.mp4 Quote
rusty Posted January 10, 2020 Author Posted January 10, 2020 I don't visit here much as it's so hard to log in. No matter what I try I always have to go through the recover password. Anyway, I love a:m and use it often. My last post was pretty sorry so here's the prototype looking a little better. I'm thinking of redoing and recoloring the rocket exhaust and loosing the rings. Rusty Edit: Rendering this to a mov file clocked in at 670 Mb. After uploading it to YouTube and downloading the mp4 file it was at 8mb! I cannot duplicate YouTube's compression in mp4 no matter what I try (I'm no expert lol). TSS300.mp4 Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 10, 2020 Hash Fellow Posted January 10, 2020 The rings seem like a very specific effect that I think would confuse most viewers for outer space shots. I'm going to guess that your browser is set to not take cookies from this site. i never have to sign in when i come here unless i've intentionally logged out. Quote
rusty Posted January 15, 2020 Author Posted January 15, 2020 (edited) Rob, It's completely consistent and cookies are on. I don't need cookies to remember a password. Every time my password is rejected and I have to recover my password to login. Very strange. I've been into AE too much and need to get back to A:M. I'll have a look at your tutorials Rob. Cheers, Rusty Edit: I completely ditched the post ideas and started over. Edited January 15, 2020 by rusty added info Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 15, 2020 Hash Fellow Posted January 15, 2020 @Jason Simonds Jason, does the password problem Rusty describes in the above post sound like anything fixable? Quote
Jason Simonds Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 @robcat2075 & @rusty I would have to know what web browser you are using. This is the first I have heard of that happening to anyone. But this weekend I can look into that. while I do the update. Quote
