pixelplucker
There is a free version that uses 50 photos per project. Basically take a series of shots of an object and it constructs a point cloud. Could trace that model off in AM but not sure how to retain the textures. Anyone try zephyr? Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted November 3, 2018 Hash Fellow Share Posted November 3, 2018 Not tried it. How do we get a "point cloud" in as an OBJ?
Fuchur
Point clouds are typically generated by 3d scanners (etc.). A 3d scanner will just scan at certain points and collect 3d position data like that. They need to be converted first to a polygonal/geometrical object before they can be used in a 3d modelling software. (at least if there is no algorithm available in the 3d program to handel that). serg2
AM seems to understand the format of MDD files.
pixelplucker
Can make a model from a point cloud in 3d coat, not sure if the program generates a poly model as well, some can make an stl directly.
Xtaz
I'm working in some projects using Agisoft Photoscan to generate point clouds of my sculptures, my intend is 3d print them in other scales. The big problem is the zillions faces created by cloud points that must be resolved using retopology. I'm in the first step creating good cloud points then I will export them as OBJ and retopology them at A:M.
