Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 15, 2018 Hash Fellow Share Posted May 15, 2018 Is there still interest in an animation boot camp? The goal would not be to teach you all there is to know about character animation but to get you using A:M right so that you may make sense and good use of the abundant character animation information that is available now. I'm thinking there might be four projects.... -Bouncing ball -Broad jump -Walk -Pose-to-pose acting exercise. We'd need to find some time we could all Skype together once a week.
*A:M User* Roger Posted May 16, 2018 *A:M User* Share Posted May 16, 2018 I'd be down for it. I've done some of these already but I can always use the practice.
Mechadelphia
I'm definitely interested. How long do you anticipate the boot camp would last if you move forward with it?

Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 17, 2018 Author Hash Fellow Share Posted May 17, 2018 I'm definitely interested. How long do you anticipate the boot camp would last if you move forward with it? That's a good question. I sort of imagine each project being a one-week assignment. We meet, I explain what to do, we try it some, you come back next week with it done. But in coaching people I've found it's often better to split these things into smaller portions so there's an opportunity for mid-course corrections before someone goes completely down the wrong path. Some of those projects might span more than one week.
fae_alba
Any idea on when you would have the Skype sessions? I'm in, hopefully traveling for work will slow down to only one week out of the month and I can carve out much needed time with a:m.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 17, 2018 Author Hash Fellow Share Posted May 17, 2018 Any idea on when you would have the Skype sessions? I'm flexible on this. It is difficult to find mutually convenient times, however.
harunw
Count me in! However, skyping at the same time as you guys may be a little awkward due to my faraway timezone…. If the skype sessions could be recorded, that would be a great resource to share for those that are unable to join. Nevertheless, I'd definitely make an effort to participate
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 17, 2018 Author Hash Fellow Share Posted May 17, 2018 I'm thinking my original curriculum might be a bit skimpy. Here's an expanded version. -Simple bouncing ball -Bouncing ball with squetch -Broad jump -Walk -Weight shift or side step -Head turns -Pose-to-pose acting exercise (this is definitely a more-than-one-session project) That's a lot of stuff, though.
