Admin Rodney Posted May 11, 2016 Admin Posted May 11, 2016 Wow. The underlying plot-line (for Disney) is that licensing is (still) where the money is. Though Disney will no longer publish console games based on its properties, tie-ins will still be produced by third parties through licensing deals. This means that we will be shutting down Avalanche, our internal studio that developed the game. This was a difficult decision that we did not take lightly given the quality of Disney Infinity and its many passionate fans.” Quote
largento Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 The underlying message is that stockholders only want growth. It's not enough to make a profit (or follow through with the promises made to the consumers who actually shelled out dough for the game.) Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 11, 2016 Hash Fellow Posted May 11, 2016 Recall that Avalanche was the A:M-using studio behind "Tak and the Power of Juju" and others before Disney bought them and it sounds like they were still using A:M in their pipeline for something up to the end. Update: Ken Baer tells me that Avalanche stopped using A:M after they were purchased by Disney. Quote
