This new "It Can't Be Done!" tutorial series will be somewhat more general interest and briefer than "Painting with Light" so don't be afraid to give it a look!

Part 1 is on YouTube. How to make a smooth, glass-like heart shape? We preface our attempt with some discussion of A:M tools.

Part 2 is on YouTube. We begin our heart with Lathing and make an unusual use of the Rotation tool.

Part 3 is on YouTube. To the center of the heart!

Part 4 is on YouTube. CFA early, CFA often.

Part 5 is on YouTube. You get the Hook.

Here is the image used as a rotoscope in Part 2

Great stuff, Rob! Question... where did you get that tuba sound effect? LOVE the energy and attention to detail you put into these things... can't wait to see the final-vinyl heart in this one...

I played that myself! It is a theme from Howard Hanson's Symphony #2

Rob is it cool if I share your vids to my animation thread on facebook?

Yes, that's fine.

I always wondered what Rodger's voice sounded like

I've never been happy with the recorded sound of my own voice, too nasally with no resonance...but I'll take it any day over sounding like Dick "I am not a crook" Nixon.

Sorry I'm running late on the next installment. Sometime it takes me a while to get my game face on for these.

But if you are hungering for "It Can't Be Done" there is last year's edition if you haven't caught it already.
