Although with the number of ridiculous auctions I see, that don't ever seem to sell, that may not be the case. I think you used to have to pay, maybe they changed it. The dress is a hand crafted one of a kind item and probably had at least 80 hours of work in it. I've heard of original designs for at least this much money so I'm not surprised. It doesn't mean anything. I suppose it is possible that there is one genuine bidder in there that thought it would be neat to have a rubber-band dress.
