higginsdj
I think I know the answer but I am running a MacBook Pro with Parallels and running OSX Maverick and Windows 8. I already have AM installed and running in OSX so do I need to buy a activation code if running the AM in Windows on this laptop? higginsdj
I'd also like to point out that rlmhostid.exe does not run in the Parallels installed version of Windows 8 (it states that it is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.) so I don't appear to have the ability to transfer my license/activation codes either? Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 12, 2014 Hash Fellow Share Posted January 12, 2014 do I need to buy a activation code if running the AM in Windows on this laptop? Last I heard, Jason could set you up with another activation code for no cost.
Admin Rodney Posted January 12, 2014 Admin Share Posted January 12, 2014 Last I heard, Jason could set you up with another activation code for no cost. That's been the standard approach.
higginsdj
He can, but not without the machine ID which requires the running of rlmhostid.exe! Cheers
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 12, 2014 Hash Fellow Share Posted January 12, 2014 Is it possible yours is a corrupted copy? I don't know why it wont' run. Some of the other Parallels runners will need to chime in here.
largento
It's tricky. You have to use the Command Prompt and correctly address it. This worked for me: C:\Users\xxxxxx>\\psf\Home\Desktop\rlmhostid.exe Where xxxxxx is your user account on your Mac. This generated the code for me. Unfortunately, despite doing this, I was never given the dual activation code or given the refund I was promised.
higginsdj
Ahhh - running coherance seems to have been the issue as Windows can access 2 Desktops - OSX's and Windows (which is in a different place....). It worked from the Windows Desktop folder only. Cheers David
