Simon Edmondson
http://fstoppers.com/?p=96512 A friend spotted this. Billed as the most detailed photo of Tokyo ever taken. Its 600,000 pixels wide. Apparently Pshop can only ( !) handle images up to 300,000 wide. Photographed over two days and four months in the assembly.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 5, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted August 5, 2013 If i did that I'd want to make sure I was in the picture somewhere. Or tell my friends to go stand out on their porch at the right time.

Admin Rodney Posted August 5, 2013 Admin Share Posted August 5, 2013 That's a really amazing gigaphoto. Makes me homesick for Japan (and Tokyo). I was recently reading an article about a recent major investment in gigaphoto technology and it had me getting very exciting about the possibilities. There are several companies that are approaching huge imagery from different angles and it would seem that it is just a matter of time before these various efforts (and general access to commercial products and services) converge. NancyGormezano
Microsoft has some free excellent software for stitching panoramas together as well as creating what they call "synths" (images with different levels of detail) explained here A neat example panorama Yosemite (glacier point) found here a synth of Brussels found here
