jason1025
Anyone know how to create something like this dense_beveled_cube.mdl Modzz2.mdl I cant figure it out. everything I create it seems impossible to create a smooth dense cube. itsjustme
I would make a low density cube, then run the Splitpatch plugin. Hope that helps, Jason.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 15, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted January 15, 2013 My first gambit would be to use the Primitive wizard to make a "subdivided Cube", then manually delete all the splines that are on the edges. jason1025
thank you my friends. I appreciate your time and contribution.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 15, 2013 Hash Fellow Share Posted January 15, 2013 It occurs to me that an alternate approach is, after deleting the edge splines, select the 6 splines that now border the rounded edge and slightly shrink them. This would be the opposite of adjusting the side interiors and can be done in one step rather than six. the three-pointers on the corners need a separate adjustment, another slight shrinking. Fuchur
1.) Go to the Libraries and get the Primitive you want by double-clicking on it. (v17c and above should have primitives in the library again) 2.) Go to the modelling-window and use the CutPlane-Plugin several times... it is a little work, but it is much less than extruding it yourself. You may need to rework some of the edges, but all in all it worked well for me. See you *Fuchur*
jason1025
No luck guys I just cant get the high dollar look. The edges look like poop.
Fuchur
No luck guys I just cant get the high dollar look. The edges look like poop. A hard edge is not an option? that often looks more clean than rounded edges. (and of course you need to use a good material to judge that "high-dollar-look"-stuff. itsjustme
This may not be as dense as you're after, but I think it works in general. Hope that helps, Jason. cubes_01_14_2013.zip

Thank you so much Any chance you can make a vid tutorial on how you created this? I think it would help the community.
Malo
An another way to do this. It is possible to create a cube subdivided into a polygonal program and convert it with "Troer." (More the object is dense more the conversion is long.) Download the MDLl
