Darkwing
Each year for nearly the last decade, dad has done a window painting on one of our local Tim Horton's for Christmas. This one is #9 and most likely the last one. It has been put off for several years, but overall was definitely the best and most intensive one yet. I helped some The actual painting process was ~40 hours over 4 days (spent 3 12 hour days in time horton's, plus an extra like 4 or 5 the 4th day and those chairs are highly uncomfortable). The painting is actually down now, but it was quite the sight to see in real life. Now I actually went to the effort this year of documenting the process and over the next month or so, will actually be doing a "This is how to do a window painting" tutorial. This is just the mural completed thrown together with very minimal editing done to it. So yeah, here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PoFyfsiT3s
Admin Rodney Posted January 10, 2011 Admin Share Posted January 10, 2011 Very nice. It's especially nice to have it viewable from both inside and outside the shop. Nicely done!

Darkwing
Thanks, Dad is a do-it-all type person, his range of skills are quite extraordinary really. I'm sorta like him, only less I should sometime post his halloween displays, Cap'n Blake was especially cool

Admin Rodney Posted January 10, 2011 Admin Share Posted January 10, 2011 Cool. The 'real' Flintstones! I surely do remember returning from school as a kid just in time to watch The Flintstones on TV. It was so frustrating to see Fred get locked out of his house by the sabretooth at the end of each show every day... I'm scarred by the memory (if you'll recall, both Fred and George Jetson get similar treatment) Ah those were the days.

John Bigboote
That's very cool... way to go, DAD! I hope there is an 11. I am AMAZED, being from an overly 'legal-consciuous' part of the world(Detroit MI)... that you can go into a Tim Hortons and paint anything you want on the wall without people saying 'wait, we might get sued... we don't own the rights to that...' It's great that the manger/district manager of that particular franchise has the 'cones' to say 'paint it'... and 'let them come at us'. Here in Dtown the idea would get squarshed as soon as it was thought-up... and that is SAD, and I am sick of it. The fear of 'legal interuptualations' has everyone here walking the straight and narrow, and I'm telling you- it is effecting the economy. THAT painting would NEVER happen in Detroit, Michigan. All of a sudden I feel like I am living under a swaztika flag...

Yeah, Dad has thought of that before and he never really thought about it too much until they started filming a TV show here, but that's the joys of being a backwater province, nobody who'd care about legalizations comes to this part of the province
Darkwing
Sorry folk, had to remove the muppet one, dad apparently doesn't want any outside shots, so it'll be back by tomorrow, just without outside shots
