Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 19, 2004 Hash Fellow Posted February 19, 2004 My entry in last night's four-hour animation showdown at digitalrendering.com. The topic was "a rough landing." (QT Sorenson3 143KB) rough_landing320.mov Quote
nixie Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 I would concur, I've been trying my hand (and failing) at animation recently, and you make it look easy! 4 hours is pretty impressive my friend! Quote
JTalbotski Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Impressive! Even more impressive for 4 hours work. Jim Quote
Dalemation Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Great timing. I particularly liked the hop and the flailing arms. Great! Quote
Dearmad Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 4 hours? I think I'm gonna call it a night for now.... put my stuff aside and go have a drink. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 20, 2004 Admin Posted February 20, 2004 If you aren't already winning in these contests you're well on your way! I especially like your secondary actions (i.e. the antenae). All you shading guru's should offer a few shading/texturing tips to WOW 'em for the next contest. Unless of course the rules are only basic textures... Rodney Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 20, 2004 Author Hash Fellow Posted February 20, 2004 Thanks for the positive feedback, guys! I was pleased with how this one turned out. I'm still a novice though and I'm afraid some of the best things about that clip were happy accidents while messing with the channels. I'll note those and keep them in mind for future outings. 4 hours?I'm sweatin' to make it! Getting anything done in a reasonable amount of time wouldn't be feasible without a good rig, which in this case is the Anzovin TSM rig. I like it because it makes it makes classic contrapposto poses easier to construct. I especially like your secondary actions (i.e. the antenae).Brought to you by A:M Dynamic Constraints! Quote
Mike Hart Posted February 20, 2004 Posted February 20, 2004 Looks good enough to hurt my back. I used to have a recurring nightmare of a similar thing except, it was telephone poles and a rhino would knock them down just as I would land on the next pole BUT I never fell down; I just woke up. Mike, I'm trying to formulate a question here... but... can't. I'll just say... dreaming (and nightmares) are interesting things for sure. Rodney Quote
Srmjr Posted March 1, 2004 Posted March 1, 2004 Rob, your an A:M stud, dude. I'm gonna have to learn about those dynamic constraints. Sterling Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 23 Author Hash Fellow Posted February 23 A new render of this Feb 19 2004 entry in the Animation Showdown. I was pleased with this one. This was the first time I felt like i got a suggestion of weight in the motion. 1 1 Quote
