Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 5, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted January 5, 2009 have you found a picture of what you want your web to look like? ("no" isn't the right answer ) Quote
johnl3d Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 made a circle with enough points then extrude a number of times remove everyother spline ring select then comma then delete leaves points now choose model as a group then select render as lines webs.zip shape and color as needed this is a ~5 minute example earlier sample posted using sweeper and cloth web.mov Quote
heyvern Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 if it is just for "decoration" then find a good high contrast photo of a spider web. Convert to black and white and use it as a cookie cut decal or transparency map for a low patch model. No need to try to model it with splines unless that is what you need. -vern Quote
Admin Rodney Posted January 5, 2009 Admin Posted January 5, 2009 Zee classical tutorial on za spider's web is courtesy of Jeff Paries (pairee?) It was good for A:M '99 and the basic idea should still work well in current versions. He uses 'Render as Lines' but you could also extrude the drawn splines a little to gain the effect. http://www.digitalproducer.com/pages/creat...in_animatio.htm Edit: Added a PDF version of the Tutorial. Note that the references to 'Add Lock Mode' are no longer necessary. A:M's standard stitching capability makes splining a web even easier. SpidersWeb.pdf Quote
