have you found a picture of what you want your web to look like?

made a circle with enough points then extrude a number of times remove everyother spline ring select then comma then delete leaves points now choose model as a group then select render as lines

if it is just for "decoration" then find a good high contrast photo of a spider web. Convert to black and white and use it as a cookie cut decal or transparency map for a low patch model. No need to try to model it with splines unless that is what you need.

Zee classical tutorial on za spider's web is courtesy of Jeff Paries (pairee?)

 

It was good for A:M '99 and the basic idea should still work well in current versions.

He uses 'Render as Lines' but you could also extrude the drawn splines a little to gain the effect.

Edit: Added a PDF version of the Tutorial.

Note that the references to 'Add Lock Mode' are no longer necessary. A:M's standard stitching capability makes splining a web even easier.
