Master chief Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 ok i have a partiqular point on a model in which 10 splines meet, problem is that they allways try and merge with each other and it causes the particular part to have bad eadges or round parts for no reasion, is there a way to connect all those splines to on CP but not have them link Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted September 17, 2008 Hash Fellow Posted September 17, 2008 ok i have a partiqular point on a model in which 10 splines meet, Stop right there. This will only end in tears. One CP should have one spline going thru it or two splines going thru it. Anything more is trouble. If you don't want creases at that point, you want to respline so there aren't 10 splines heading into one CP. Quote
KenH Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 ok i have a partiqular point on a model in which 10 splines meet, Hu hu sniff sob sob snuffle. Too late! Master Chief! You're nearly here a year! You wouldn't converge 10 lines even in a poly app! Quote
Master chief Posted September 18, 2008 Author Posted September 18, 2008 ok im trying to make a sphear that is as perfact as i can get , as in no wobble when it rotates , any ideas there then P.S. sorry i made you cry Quote
jirard Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 There are a couple in the Hash data folder. I dont think you will get a much smoother sphere than those. Quote
HomeSlice Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Place the top-most and bottom-most points at .01cm before you lathe. That will prevent creases to the sphere. You should only need 6 or 8 cross sections on your lathed sphere, 10 is probably too much. Quote
Caroline Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 If you search the forum for 'sphere' there are a number of interesting posts. This is one: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23686 But it has A LOT of patches - further in the thread are some low-res ones. Quote
jirard Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 Thanks for that link Caroline. I always just used the one on the c.d. Quote
