jakerupert Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Hi there, Experimenting with Toonshading for some book-illustrationwork. What do you think so far? Jake? Quote
agep Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Good work! Personally I'm not a fan of toonshading, but I must say that the tractor looks very nice! Quote
CreativeAustinYankee Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 You might want to reconsider the brown of the dog, the horse, and the ground. Too simular. Steve P. Quote
Gerry Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Yeah, maybe decal the ground instead of that material. It's a bit too saturated. Try to get the colors more subtle in general. They're all a little too rich. Farmers, farms and the stuff on them are usually more faded and weathered. Quote
martin Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 It depends on the kind of book. If this is a "how to farm" book then you'll need to pay attention to the color issues that have been raised. If this is a storybook for kids, then you're fine. Storybooks need their art to look "different" from normal things because the art is part of the interest. If you had a whole storybook filled with pictures of this "look," it would be fine - better than fine. Quote
