Caroline Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 That's a good effect - I felt a great disturbance in the Force. Edit: and looking at the simplicity of animating the displacement map, it's something to remember. Quote
Eric2575 Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Another gem in my toolbox to play with. Thanks John! Quote
oakchas Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 John, You just earned a folder on my hard drive... I have to have some way to categorize all of your great idea testing! Quote
NancyGormezano Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 John, You just earned a folder on my hard drive... Just a folder? John needs a sub-forum all his own. I also can't keep track of all his stuff, whenever I'm looking to steal. Quote

Heck I was thinking of naming a religion/science after his ideas... but there are so many... That's it! John's Theory Of Everything! John's TOE! works for me! Quote
NancyGormezano Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Yayyyy!!!! All hail to John's Big TOE! (we are not worthy) Quote

Darkwing Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 One question, where do you come up with these ideas. Do you just sit down and say "hm, I think i'lll work with displacement today" or do you just open the program, open a new material and and just fiddle with it untill it looks cool? Quote
johnl3d Posted August 3, 2007 Author Posted August 3, 2007 I sometimes get ideas from the forum. Sometimes I get emails asking questions which I try to answer on the forum. Sometimes something I see something on my commute that gets me to try an idea. Hey AM is a great Doodle Pad. Oh and I was going to have the ball/planet explode at the end but ran out of time.
