bighop
I made a very simple model, and created a walk cycle for it. Now when I put the model on a path, and try to increase the time is walks the path, the model completes one walk cycle and freezes, but glides through the path. Any ideas anyone? Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 16, 2006 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 16, 2006 you may have "has stride length" OFF in your action properties. or... in your project workspace check that the redbar for the action is as long as you want the walk to be. [attachmentid=23187] If not click it and drag the end out.
bighop
Thanks that helps, now he walks very very slow. I just want the cycle to repeat but walk on the path for longer. I can't find this in the book.
Paul Forwood
Make sure that the "Chor Range", in the shortcut to your walk action, is set to cover the length of time that you want the action to be repeated and that the "crop" value equals the length of your walk cycle. bighop
Thanks, I also found this tutorial: http://www.hash.com/users/jsherwood/tutes/...de/stride1.html It's starting to work!
Admin Rodney Posted December 16, 2006 Admin Share Posted December 16, 2006 Nice find Andy! I had completely forgot about that tutorial. It was the precursor to the current videos on stride length and wheel cycles on the TaoA:M video page. http://www.hash.com/vm/ If you haven't seen those definitely check out the ones at the bottom of the page. In particular: Simple walk and wheel cycling actions and Path Ease (walk, then wave)
John Bigboote
Yes, you need to set the action to repeat...there is a place to set that in the property box right when you apply the action to the character...it's default setting is 1...try 5 and adjust from there!
