johnl3d
thanks ..its an idea i got from a glass sculpture we have at the office I work in. I souped up this version by putting it in a sphere with peaked cp's and reflection [attachmentid=11035] I've added project file although i was setting it up for animating so you might have to "adjust it" ..if you get anything interesting out of this please post [attachmentid=11043] burst.zip

phnxpyre
That is really cool, it looks very good... Reminds me of a stained glass window and a keleidoscope. Awesome render!
williamgaylord
Looks like a glass sculpture by Dale Chihuly (photo attached). Nice work! Bill Gaylord
johnl3d
here is one of 7 "sisters" in our building this is a blue one [attachmentid=11066]
williamgaylord
Wow! You have 7 of these in your building? Dale Chihuly's work as well I assume (pretty distinctive style). I've taken dozens of photos of his work while it was on display at the Botanical Gardens in Atlanta. I think your model works quite well for this sort of thing. johnl3d
Actually glass sculptures by artist Robert Kuster
Paul Forwood
Interesting objects. Beautiful, fragile and perplexing. I don't know what he calls them but it looks like 'conception' to me. Does that big blue one have a light inside it, John, or is it purely sculptural?
johnl3d
None have a light that was just me fiddling with the idea The picture below is a composite of some of them the local PBS did a film about them "THE SEVEN SISTERS is a documentary about the design, construction, and installation of the striking, blown glass sculptures by artist Robert Kuster at the .... headquarters" [attachmentid=11100]
oakchas
"the ... Headquarters" has somewhat the look as I remember the Abbey on lake Geneva. Mind you, I haven't been there in ~40 years, so my memory is prolly way off... but it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the composite... and then I noticed you're from John Johnson (Yon Yonson) country... hmmm, odd coincidence.
