Very nice!

You just have the fever or are you planning something with this guy?

(Looking forward to seeing SW III myself soon)

Wow... nice! very nice!

I was sure you'd used more splines, but you seem to've used just about enought of them, maybe one or two too many, not sure.

Can't wait for more!

HURRY!

not to get off topic, but what kind of spotlight are you using? I'm kind of new to AM and have been trying to get a similar spotlight without much success.

I took a short break to make this. Still a lot of work to do, and I really haven't done any textures yet, just slapped a metal texture on it.

Riskmandel: I use a custom light setup that I made. It basically has 5 spotlights in it, one from each side and one from the top. If they all focus at 1 spot, you get what my renders look like. For the black background, I just made a very large white ground plane. As the plane gets further away from the lights, it gets darker, then I have a black camera background that it fades into. I hope that makes sense...ask any questions if you have them.

Niiiiice! Did you use the theforce.net method on creating the lightsabre? The only thing that iffs me a bit, is the length of the blade. However, I can't really tell because of the angle.

Thanks for the comments. Here's a closer up render...not much is new with the model.

Mr. Jage: No I didn't....I was looking at it and it SEEMS like their method only makes the blade look good from one angle? I could be wrong.... Anyway, I made this just by messing around with ambience, falloff, and glow. I'm not completely happy with it, but I can always mess with the final image in Photoshop.

OH MY RELIGIOUS LEADER, that's a fine saber!! :o So well crafted... More than good enough for a Jedi Master. Could you pleeeaaaase spoil us with a wireframe?

And about the theforce.net-saber, the only angle it doesn't look good from(that I've noticed) is a 180 degree turn of what you posted in your link, because that makes it look rather plastic-like.

Worked a bit more on the helmet. I did some subtle changes to the mesh, as well as started on textures. These textures are more just laying out the color than anything else. I hope to make the final version look dirty and worn.
