ChrisThom
I'm not sure why I created this but it looks fun. The only hand animating done was the movement of the model bone. http://christhom.net/images/AM/DC.mov
jfirestine
Quit yanking my chain... :-) Seriously, that looks very good. Can you post some images of the rig, and some of the settings? Very cool!
Admin Rodney Posted April 18, 2005 Admin Share Posted April 18, 2005 Now that is too cool. It (the movie and a little explanation) would be a perfect addition to the Dynamic Constraints Tech Talk.
Dearmad
Nice. Will the bones work along their roll axis too? So you can control the twist in the chain- or get it moving in a twist?
themike38
Nice work, how did you make the chain Chris?????? thanks Mike
c-wheeler
That looks realy good, well done Chris. Any chance of seeing the bone setup?
ChrisThom
Here's the project file. That should answer most of your questions. It's basically a series of elongated toruses, each having its own bone and the last bone have the constraint applied. I tried twisting it and it didn't act right. It just twisted the whole object at once. DC.prj

That's odd... what about if the bones above the dynamic one were constrained to "roll like" the dynamic one but at lower and lower percentages of enforcement as you go up the chain? Eh, well, anyway, I'm sure there's some way to do it with some creative further constraining. Thanks for sharing!

Sounds like you got yourself an assignment there.
