bgagnon Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Here is a screen shot of my first ever model. When I say first ever i mean with any 3d program. I bought AM a few week ago, went through the tuts and downloaded a bunch of tuts off you guys websites. I did not ad all the textures yet. That will be my next phase. Please take a look and tell me what you think. Your input will be greatly app. I guess I should let you all know that I work for Kawasaki Robotics and though I would model one of our newer robot. higginsdj Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Have you bevelled your edges? Most appear quite 'sharp'. Cheers Quote
Gene Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 I think it's coming along nicely...especially for your first model. It reminds me of ddustin's contest entry http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.php?album=23&pos=23 Just curious, but are you planning to animate this for some purpose? Cheers, Eugene Quote
bgagnon Posted March 20, 2005 Author Posted March 20, 2005 KenH It's a robot. Mostly used in the automotive ind. These robots will perform tasks like welding, handling, sealing, painting and many others. They are about six feet tall, some are taller and some can lift up to 500kg. Pretty impressive piece of machinery. I would also thank everyone else for their input. I will bevel more edges and add textures. Quote
Dhar Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 Yeah, looks good. What is it? never mind, you just posted the answer Quote
bgagnon Posted March 20, 2005 Author Posted March 20, 2005 GENE (Toronto EH?) Just kidding. I am Canadian too. I would like to animate this eventually, for no particular reason. I have not attempted to add bones to it yet. I think that will be a challange. Quote
DarkLimit Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 This is a very cool model, just add some bevels like david suggested and it will be enhanced even more.... ** good to see fellow canadians** Quote
