  1. This. I've thought about this before so I guess I have to try this since I've run out of options. The problem is if I want to change something that has been saved in V16 I can't. Giving away my models that I've worked so hard is a great deal to me, but I know some people well enough in here that I can trust to give my models away. It's only that this is going to take a lot of their time and resources and I don't have enough money to offer in return. Just send the PRJ and proper folders to somebody, heck, maybe even hash would render it if you didn't want to entrust it to the public, cause I'm pretty sure I heard hash has a rendering farm or something or I've just forgotten my crazy meds again
  2. Have you tried getting someone else to render it, say with a newer version like V15 or 16 and someone with more computer resources?
  3. Well, basic shape is pretty much done, now I'll be moving on to some of the larger details of the ship EDIT: The interesting thing about this model, is with it's multiple flowing curved elements, this model is fairly heavy on the 5 point patches (44 to be exact)
  4. Yep, when done it should basically be one continuous model. It's one of those rare mech items that is definitely better suited for AM, I can't imagine trying to model that in a poly program, cause one of the things I count on for this model is AMs organic curves and they sure do come in handy on this ship!
  5. Did an AO render while I went out to shovel. Noticed some twisty problems that need fixing and some thickness adjustment, but yeah
  6. Well it's a start I guess
  7. Ok, so this is the beginning of attempt number 4 at starting this model and it is already proving to be a tough little bird just because of its awkwardness! So this will be a very interesting model to make!
  8. Finished! Gonna add it to the Cue in a moment
  9. SO I thought the modeling was done when I rendered this, but then saw it and was like d'oh! Forgot one detail. So finish that then it's on to the texturing. And thanks Holmes Also, I'm gettin kinda excited for the next model I have planned, it's something I've wanted to model for years but didn't really have the confidence or skill to do (not that I do now either, but I still wanna try it)
  10. Still have yet to fix the screw, but modeling is close to being done, a few more details and then some CFA stuff then texturing
  11. Heh heh, it just felt right
  12. Usually takes a week or so for the contest to be open I've found, have patience young padawan, let the force flow through your splines....
  13. So do most English speaking people
  14. That explains why I'm not good at animation, I can't speak any Germanic languages
  15. I'm actually whipping up a crappy ELZ one, just to make the entries page longer
  16. That's interesting...oh well, guess that's what you get for using concept sketches as your rotos I'll fix it later
  17. Here was an interesting little challenge, modeling the screw on the side of the phaser, but I think it turned out quite well
  18. Now pretty much all of the basic shapes are in, time to work on details/sculpting
  19. Here's some more. I kinda dislike when an object relies on so many cube like shapes, makes curves somewhat trickier :/
  20. Okey dokeys, my next model is actually going to be a set of models that will be released as the Classic Away Team pack which will include everything to successfully get you into trouble with the local aliens and out of it again So, first up, the classic Type 2 Phaser pistol!
  21. Thanks, I got a blade pretty much worked out, just gotta play with the poses a bit more and then it'll be ready for shipment
  22. They're just the basic surface materials. This particular saber doesn't have a blade yet, but I'm going to making a blade in the near future to be used with all sabers, so you can control colour, length, motion trail all with pose sliders One blade to rule them all and in the darkness...bind them....
  23. Finished _1Lightsaber.zip
  24. Modeling bit is done, must say that's the fastest and easy thing I think I've modeled before
  25. Yeah, figured I'd start with a quick and easy one for my modeling challenge. It's not done yet, but here's a good chunk of Luke Skywalker's lightsaber from Return of the Jedi:
