Yeah, I like it! Very Anime looking. Textures on the eyes are really nice. What plans do you have to animate this guy? -Andrew

yeah, two eyes work a lot better. I'm looking forward to seeing this animated! -Andrew

I've never really felt anything for an escape button before... really great work. I totally identify with the main character. At least in school. -Andrew

Yeah, it's looking very much like Buddha  ... well, like the statues I've seen anyway. Brow looks great now, it's going to be awesome when you texture it! One thing: I can't tell if it's a problem with geometry, a rendering glitch, weird lighting, or my own hallucinations, but could you do a render that's closer up on the ear? It looks kind of funky in the first image and it's cropped off in the last one. Seems almost like it could be attached better, but then again, I can't really see it. :( -Andrew

OK. I need some feedback on my texturing. I'm going for a softer look, so I'm not out to make my character's shell real shiny or anything, but if you notice anything I've missed or should focus more on, it'd be great to hear. :D -Andrew Here's angle 1

CRToon- Thanks a LOT for that tutorial link. I feel as though I have a sense of what's going on now. I'll try to have some sort of textured version in a day or so... -Andrew :D

Ok, I smoothed out his cheeks, but other than that, I'm ready to go. I'm tired of modelling this guy! And the changes I made weren't drastic enough for me to justify attaching a new image. So... Next step: Any ideas on how I should texture him? I've got access to photoshop, and I am semi-proficient at it... I just need to find some tutorials on flattening and all... One thing that I've heard is that I need to take seperate pieces and flatten those as seperate things to be decalled. Does that mean just the seperate geometry like the shell and the eyeballs, or do I need to go farther than that? And I need this stuff explained in the simplest of mentally deficient laymen terms. I. Have. No. Idea. What. I'm. Doing. -Andrew

Thanks for the feedback! :D Zarvin- I tried to soften things a little, like the ridge on his nose and the part between his eyes... does it need more tweaking? DarkLimit- CRToon is right. That's supposed to be the shell that protects the wings. That's why its rounded. I'm thinking it'll be more evident when I make the back shiny and maybe put big spots or some design on it. And I'll bend the antennae with bones. They're just static for the rigging process. CRToon- I'm still not sure what you mean by "definite line." I don't have much of a vocabulary when it comes to artsy lingo. Maybe you could explain it more...? And where I might put it? And I put a little more work into the ears. So hopefully they don't still look like places where I pulled part of his skin away. I'll have a wireframe in a sec... -Andrew

I think I'm done with my geometry... I'm putting up some screen captures for any design/ modelling criticism before I start bugging (no pun intended) everyone to help me with the texturing. Haven't had the time I've wanted on this, so I haven't made many changes since my last post. Just redid the hands, tweaked his face, put in eyes, made the inside of his mouth, which I can't even see. Anyway, any suggestions are welcome. Thanks -Andrew

No! Do a tutorial! I went to your website to find something and all I could find was some wireframes- not how you put them together. I would pay a billion dollars- well, that is if I wasn't broke- to do that kind of stuff- especially texturing. I'm stumbling around in the dark with that. And my lighting stinks! Or at least come up with some more pointers. How was it that you were able to have your guides crisscross like you did on the sides of the head above the ears? It seems like the program wouldn't enjoy that very much at all. -Andrew

dang. Great textures and volumetrics! How did you do that? And the curtains. Teach ME!

nice! I like it. Very scary.

I like it! Especially good job on the lips, nice clean geometry. Can't wait to see the animation. Are you going to make the fish talk? The single cyclops eye is freaky, too. Like the design... Couple things, in my humble opinion: maybe the tail fins could be longer and pointier, like a thresher shark's or something. That could look wicked cool! Does this fish not have any side fins, by the way? Again, these are observations by a landlocked biology-failure, so just disregard everything I've just said if you get the impression I don't know anything about marine life. -Andrew

Ok. Here's the feet, and the beginnings of the eyes. And a nice 3/4 view of the back! Took me a long time to do the eyes, and they still aren't quite the way I want, but this is all I can get up in time before I go to school. Feedback is great! Love feedback! Especially if any of you see any areas that seem particularly angular. (And do the eyes look at all crossed? Or is it just me. Maybe I'm crazy.) Thanks! Andrew

Wow. Awesome. Cool render! Nice Model- it really looks alive- I like the textures too! Gotta learn how to do that stuff myself... -Andrew

No, it's not my avatar. That was a model I made on nendo and then found out that it didn't want to export right into Animaster. So I've found a new use for him. I see how you could mistake the two though- I have a thing for creatures with antennae. -Andrew

Ok. a couple hours turned into several hours. I think the relationship between my computer and animaster is disfunctional. Keeps crashing. Yadda yadda... Here's the latest version of mr. bug. If anybody out there has any ideas on texturing for me, I'd be happy to hear that too. -Andrew
-
Cool Style! Can't wait to see how you animate them. Keep it up. -Andrew
-
Thanks! Here's the wireframe- I've changed the body just a little so I can put the arms on- I'll try to have a more developed model in a couple hours. -Andrew
-
Couldn't attach this in my other forum, so here it is. Any criticism would be great! And I'll give a nickel to anyone who can tell me how to render the wireframe of it. Still no eyes. Or arms. Working on that. -Andrew
