  1. Great Character! he's oozing personality and should be fun to animate. He reminds me a bit of the lamb from "Boundin" post haircut.
  2. I think robcat nailed it. I'd turn off mirror mode as well,no reason for it to be on.
  3. The spin looks ok but you need to do loads more work on the model. If you want it to look right get yourself lots of reference from the helicopter it's off of and take your time.
  4. Great start DL I have to agree I like this design better. Can't wait to see the rest.
  5. I have to say I liked the first one better. Not just because of the amount of action but the character felt more in the scene. Very strong pose on the character and I like the camera work but I think you missed out on not having more reflections on him. With how fast the clouds were moving I would have liked to have seen this reflected in him. The clouds were a great idea and certainly went part way to conveying the mood you were after. The lighting fell short of helping you totally accomplish this because it was too consistent both at the main scene and well. With the addition of the birds and magic I think a darker lighting in the well scene really would have added to the effect you were going for.One question I had was when you were doing a close up pan of the mountains in the original shot why wouldn't you have used the modeled mountain from the end of the first animation? I think the choice of music is excellent and helps keep the mood of the piece. Overall, I think with a bit of tweaking you could bring this to the level of the first spot.
  6. Maybe this link will help,I faced the same dilemma http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...=4673&st=15
  7. Maybe we could stick to critiqueing the animation, which I think is very stiff and unimaginative. Even if you don't agree with Bruce's choice of subject matter or way he chose to portray it doesn't free speech give him the right to air it? Vern, you if anyone should fight for someone's rights to say what they want. You have a whole section of the forums dedicated to your thoughts and musing, which as far as I can tell have little to do with 3d or animation.
  8. thank you for the replies guys.
  9. hello all i used the dup wiz to make a length of rope, this worked fine. but i've hit a wall i need to make a circular length for a knot and i can't seem to figure it out.any help would be appreciated.
  10. ignore me...lol robcat's got it! can we maybe save this somewhere i'm sure it'll help every noob out.
  11. ok i'll take a stab.1st take a breath this isn't surgery lol. the way i understand it if you dont put a keyframe for every bone you plan on moving the program starts the movement from the last set keyframe. so, basically you have to set a keyframe to tell the bone to hold still. so at frame 0 go and wiggle each bone you intend to use, this will set a keyframe for them. now if you want the arm to rise up at frame 10 go to say frame 7 and wiggle them again.then at frame 10 position the arm the way you want it. this way you've told the bone to hold still until frame 7 then take 3 frames to move into position.
  12. do you have reflections set onthe car material? what multipass setting did you render at?
  13. C'mon guys, the last post from author was July 2004 maybe it should be left in the forum graveyard?
  14. We have seven 11 here, you just don't hear about it cuz news travels slow by dogsled.
  15. maybe the files are too big?why not compare the file you were able to open with one that isn't,check the properties and you might find the problem there. as far as the mouth not moving check this thread http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=26296
