  1. Thanks Mark. I actually had the hood all perfect too, but am gonna do another one because the original hood had to be curved a bit after the front end was tweaked which knocked the.... Well, anyways, I'm gonna make another hood Maybe one day this model will be finished......muahahahahah
  2. Not bad at all, great start to your AM modeling. Why don't you post a wireframe so we can figure out what's causing that tiny bit of distortion on top of the Rook? Cheers Eric
  3. Well, I consider this project my learn-as-I-go and delete-cp's-as-I-go experience. The Saleen is not meant to be animated, so I kinda not too worried about excess cp's. But I do get your point, better to do it right the first time around and carry that to the next project. Funny thing is that it's hard to reduce cp's once the model is as big as it is now. Oh well. Thanks for the compliment
  4. I would agree with Robcat on motherboard and ram to a point as I said above. It's also true about the graphics card. Swapped my 128MB card for a top of the line ATI XT800 and did notice an improvement, but hardly worth the money paid for a high end card.
  5. Been laying low on the S7 for a while, but am picking back up. Tires, rim, interior almost done.
  6. I upgraded from 512k to 1.5GB and very honestly did not notice a significant improvement in running AM. You may want to invest your money into a new graphics card unless you intend to run other apps with AM. Btw, my rig is a PC.
  7. If I don't ask, I 'll never know: What is the AM Compositor?
  8. Funny how little things like that can hinder a project. Now go out there and decal the world
  9. Love that ape. One thing though. The specular highlight in his eye is awefully bright. That's all I have to pick on
  10. If you want to apply a decal around a cylinder, you have to have the model centered on the x/y axis if I understand it correctly. Take a soda can model; if you don't have it centered on the x/y axis, the decal will appear smeared or unrecognizable. I think there is a way to move the offset of the decal to your model, but someone else will have to elaborate. Also, if you apply a decal with a spherical projection to a flat surface, you will always get distortion.
  11. Und einen guten Rutsch! Happy new Year!!
  12. Ganz toll gemacht!! Wie immer. Prost Neujahr!!
  13. Looks a bit angular but very nice, nontheless.
  14. OOooooh, very nice! I can almost feel the heat. Really like the way you did that.
  15. I'm gonna add a basic inside mouth and a tongue. Yeah, I know the legs are not bent "correctly" , but I thought they look more like a cartoon character that way instead of trying to look like a real duck. No problem to change them. I think Bob wants the goose pretty much as is. No mention was made about feather/hair system, but who knows. Thanks Mark, can't wait for you to rig Goosey.
  16. I can't take too much credit for the facial character, since the sketch was supplied by Bob Taylor of the TWO project and I tried to model it pretty dead on. But hey, I take the koodo for the modeling, thanks Now to get that sucker to fly...
  17. This is actually close to being done. A few touches and she'll be ready to lay an egg
  18. I was so busy trying to be funny that I didn't even ask if you would let us know how you did that? I've tried V.12 normal mapping with little success.
  19. Wow, that looks really great! That nipple doesn't disappoint. Are those trees made with hair? Er...umm...I mean...no, I don't mean...um..that Molly has a hairy...ah.. nipple...yeez, just bury me in that plot
  20. A common thread, for a fleeting moment, breaks down all barriers and brings us closer to Peace on Earth and Good Will to All.
  21. I like a lesser amount of reflectivity, but I don't like the way the whole blade looks darker now. There's gotta be a way to turn down the reflectivity and still keep the blade looking like it's in a spotlight. The last render looks like the blade is in a shadow zone.
  22. Hey Dan: Congrats on your finals and a Merry Christmas to you and your family. Damn, dude that knife looks like it just came out of a ancient dig site, got cleaned up and displayed in a museum. Excellent work
  23. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all
  24. John, with your fantstic ideas and special effects knack, a complete animation of yours would be a very special treat indeed. Hope someday we may all enjoy the fruits of your labor.
  25. I couldn't stop laughing....poor thingy that seems to be injured and brain damaged running around in a circle.
