  1. here's another test after some tweaking. I don't know if this is any better, i probably made it worse rigtest2.mov
  2. I get this all the time, but unfortunately I don't know how to fix it. Hopefully someone knows, cause its been bugging me
  3. I think i figured out the shoe problem, the top control points were assigned to the calf bone instead of the foot. Here it is. I used Mark's (mtpeak2) rig.
  4. I decided to do a little test to see how the rig works. As you can see there are a few problems. Though I'm sure it's do to my bad modelling. -The arms really need work -The shoes go through the pants - The pants go through the shirt The shoes twist at akward angles The knees twist argh back to the drawing board As you can also see. I didn't try for realistic movement. I was trying to show where it messed up. Now he looks like he belongs in the matrix rig_test.mov
  5. Heres an update to my character. the only thing it needs is eye lids, and I'm not sure how to do it. Any advice. Thanks to Larry B for help on the pants and hair.
  6. If by geometry you mean I modeled it my self then yeah. I just lathed a spline into a cone shape and tweaked it. then copy pasted over and over and over again.
  7. Here's the character that I wanted to make. It came out sort of like it was in my head. Need to add hands and feet. and probably eye lids. Then I'll have to see if this thing can animate
  8. Thanks. Here's a pic of the character I was trying to make. As you can see it's nothing like what I planned. I drew this in paint so it's crudely done.
  9. Here's an almost finished, character with a texture. I wasn't planning on adding a nose or a mouth, but this isn't the character I was trying to make. So I may add one after I get my other character made. I have an idea for the next mini film contest, and this character doesn't fit the story.
  10. I know how you all like to see wire frame so ...
  11. May help you build your animation skills. http://www.3dark.com/archives/ca_exercises.html
  12. You can get the old manual here. ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/updates/windows/Am98/ For those wanting "better documentation". This may help. It's not just strictly tutorials. But of course this is much older. But I'm sure the same principles appy right?
  13. I think you mean Sagat. But anyways. The model looks great Noah.
  14. wow. Must... read... more. That was very good, you have to make this film. Keep up the good work.
  15. Hey Chris I Like the bots and the terrain is really nice as well. The bot in the middle looks kind of like it's floating though. And one thing with the background, it looks as if you painted the black over the mountains, it makes the mountains in the back look like they were cut. Other than those few things, it's looking nice.
  16. the guy's voice sounds like Keanu Reeves. When I first heard it, I thought it was a clip from a movie. Great job on the voice acting. The lip sync is also very well done. One question though- What's with the bathroom
  17. That looks really good. I love the reflection on the floor. The only thing I see, that could use a little work is the lighting. You can see to the left of the window, it makes a circle shape. So it looks like the lighting isn't coming from the window. Other than that, it's great.
  18. I have to say an excellent job on the hair. The models look good too, don't get me wrong it's just that the hair looks so real it sortof makes the rest look, um whats the word I'm looking for, not fake, just less real. If you get what I'm trying to say. Still. I may just be picky. Overall an excellent job.
  19. If you could keep it like that. (The just feet invisible leg look) I think that would be really cool. It actually gives it more personality, just by not having visible legs. Although I've always been fond of that look. Big Rayman and Vectorman fan.
  20. My thoughts exactly. That looks really cool. Every time I see your work, I get that Surfin U.S.A in my head. Keep up the good work.
  21. I am sure you heard of "Robots" by now. the new film by Blue Sky. Well when I saw this that's what it reminded me of. Honestly your character looks like it could fit well with the "Robots" world. I like where it's shaking and wobbling on the board. That was funny. I'd love to see more.* *If you've already posted some more stuff. Please ignore that last statement. I'm posting this a little late.
  22. Same here. It certainly has that look doesn't it. Very nice job.
