Yikes. I don't have High Sierra installed ...and come to think of it, I don't have multiple users, either. Still seems like something Apple needs to fix pronto.

Congratulations to the caricature winners, too! Let's see if I can get them done in less than two years like last time. :-)
Steve, John, & Roger, if you'll message me with a photo I can use for the caricature, I'll see if I can't knock these out in the near future. (Roger, it can be your dog, if you like.)

That was terrific, Robert! Hearing everyone's explanation for their entries was great. Next time, you need a musical routine at the beginning. :-)
Thanks so much to all those who voted, I'm super-thrilled to get one of the Summer Memories medals!

I almost fainted, but apparently it's real ...Stalled Trek: Prelude to Ax'd-We-Are has won BEST FAN FILM at the Berlin Sci-Fi Filmfest! I honestly didn't think it had a chance and I'm really blown away.
See what you can do with A:M and a dream?

Does this mean you're one day away now instead of two? :-)

Just today, I was able to buy a sub for the company I'm doing freelance work for. Nothing better for me to use to do some 3D mockups and obviously, no complaints about the price.

Paul, I saw them advertising on Macbreak Weekly this week. If you do want to supplement with some existing footage, there's this site called Storybloks.
https://www.videoblocks.com/macbreak
That link gives you the option for 84% off of the monthly price, meaning you get a whole year's subscription for $149. Unlimited downloads and royalty free.
Don't have any personal experience with them, but when I heard the ad, I thought of your post.

Very cool, Paul! Your own Christmas theater! Going off the witch, making an animation that showed Santa or snowmen or something waving like they are standing on your front porch would be cool.

The suspense is killing me! 😀

I think I've finally figured out how Trump's hair looks like that. He obviously combs it back on the sides, but the magic trick is that he combs the hair from his part across the top of his head (from his left to right). Then, he has a combover from the back that is combed forward, over the hair on the top of his head at an angle and that hair is feathered the opposite direction and hidden under the part (on his left).
I had to go back to younger photos, because his hair is so fine now, that it's hard to define.

Coolness! Great job, everybody!

Its Voltron, right? If it were me, Id put them all together in an action and add some control bones there. If that didnt work, Id put them all into one model and re-rig it as a single unit.

When do we get to vote on the image contest?

I thought it was visually appealing and the story was interesting enough through the first parts of the film. Then it hit a "Oh, I get it, this is all a red herring" sort of thing prematurely and it dragged endlessly (seemingly) to the place I thought it was going to. Maybe it's to the credit of the movie that I was paying enough attention to see the ruse, but it became a case of just going through the steps and all of those steps were delayed by the movie coming to a halt over and over to look at itself in the mirror. The 2 hour and 43 minute running time is waaaay too long. I had trouble staying awake until the end of it. I always think Bond movies are a half hour too long. I think this one may have been 90 minutes too long.

I haven't tried this yet, but it's free (well, they want your email address)
https://wonderunit.com/storyboarder/
Looks like it has a "shot generator" that will create basic shots for you

Thanks, guys!
I am on imdb, although I've never updated it since Amutt Time. I should do that.

Kinda' thought I was done with this, but pleasantly surprised and excited to announce that Stalled Trek: Prelude to Ax'd-We-Are has been named an Official Selection of the Berlin Sci-Fi Filmfest! Stalled Trek in Germany! The fest is being held in Berlin on November 17-18.

How did we do?
Looking forward to seeing all the entries!

Can you purchase it directly from the online store?

I meant to make mention of this on the 1st. That's when I started the thread for The Wannabe Pirates. Who knew I'd spend so much time on it and even though it didn't really go anywhere, I did self-publish a 200+ page graphic novel and several comics and even made a sort of animated commercial for it.
I doubt the last storyline will ever be finished, but you can still read all the strips on the website.

Thanks, guys! Like I said, I was just matching what I'd seen in a tutorial, but I wanted to pass it on since I could see where there could be other applications. Like making hair for a cartoon figure.

In v. 17, we got a new feature: Retopology.
Something like six years later, I finally got around to using it! :-)
Here's a quick bit of niftiness. I needed a cartoon brain for the image I'm working on and it seemed a daunting modeling challenge. Seeing how someone else was able to do it with another piece of software, I realized I could do the same in A:M.
I started off with a fairly dense sphere model I created with the Primitive wizard and cut it in half and worked it into a reasonable "lobe" shape.
I created a new Cho and placed an empty model for the brain and the dense model and set to work. Once in model mode (with snap to surface clicked), I began drawing squiggly splines on the surface of the dense model, just trying to cover the area. I wasn't actually trying to recreate the actual brain structures.
With that, I had a model with a bunch of squiggly lines that matched the shape of the brain.
I created a cross section and used the Sweeper Plug-in to turn those squiggly lines into tubes. I then duplicated and flipped it to make the other side and Voila! A quick, squishy brain!
