I wasnt saying the skirt looked bad, I was merely commenting on why he has the skirt. I think you are doing a great job with your models and cant wait to see the animation.

The reasoning behind the skirt is that the commanders are based off the ARC Troopers from the cartoon. They are clones that were bred and trained to be elite (so to speak). I think with him and commanding the marines they chose it for extra protection as you see them in cold weather in the film. Its the same principle as the Hoth troopers in Empire

Welcome to the club Matt. Your model is not bad for your first try at 3d. I would suggest that you sit down and do the tutorials in the manual though. It will teach animation and how to model. Welcome to the community Jeremy. This is indeed a great package. I was trained in 3D Max while in school and have used Maya and when I picked up this software I had a little of a learning curve cause I kept thinking in polygons instead of splines, but you get over that quick. Post your problems or updates and people will comment and help you out. Again welcome.

Rodney, I think that would be a great idea. I know from other packages that Rigging can be and is sometimes the most difficult part. Many a time have I seen animators give up on animating their character cause they couldnt get it rigged right.

Welcome to the club. Like Robert said, its best to keep it simple at first. Get used to using the program and such before jumping off the deep end. Itsjustme pointed out that the best approach is the use the manual. It will get you used to the program and you will learn to do just about everything in there. Good luck with your projects

Hey Guys sorry I couldnt be there today. I found out late last night that my new job was making me work today. It sucked because I was told when I started that I have weekends off and holidays too and then they spring this on me last night. Not even at work, they called me at home to tell me.
