  1. Updated the instructions, MirrorBone plugin settings.

The first thing I noticed is the " Right Thigh Fan_Geom" is out of position. It needs to orient like the "Right Thigh_Geom" bone. Copy and paste the rotate values (x,y,z) from the thigh to the fan bone. The rest of the installation looks good. It looks like you're getting the hang of it. Ok, I did some testing, I don't know why it doesn't work with the settings I have in the instructions, it use to and does on just the rig. Trying placing a check mark in the "search for mirror only using bonename".

Steve, I can't open the zip files you sent. Can you send them unzipped?

Sure, send me a before and after MirrorBones, if you have it. I sent you an e-mail with my address.

It sounds like you don't have the back and back 2 bones at 0 on the X axis.
  6. His name is Steffen, get it right guys. Thanks for the update Steffen.
  7. I have to agree with Ken. I don't think either one of the character models have any feet touching the ground. Looking at your wireframe image, it looks as though the heavy white line, below the red line, is the actual ground. They appear to be at the curb height. Their shadows, in the first pic, are a dead give away. I would double check that again.

Thanks Steve. The 2008 rig is built in v13, so it'll work in v13 and any newer version of A:M.
  9. Pretty cool Mark. Very fun to play with.

Here's Thom with the new finger controls. I set them to ON by default. Let me know what you think. Thanks AMv13_2008_Rig_Thom_Finger_Controls.zip

Old actions are not compatible, sorry. This Thom has fingers, so you may want to just continue with the old Thom model. You could copy, paste and stitch the old hands in, if you want to use the new rig.

Thanks guys. If there is eough interest, I'll consider updating the rig, but right now, I'm just playing with the idea to see how well it works. Mark, the 2008 rig is not that difficult to install.

I've been experimenting with new finger controls, as added controls to the already existing ones. Translating (Z axis) the first null controller curls the whole finger and rotating (Z axis) the first null controller curls only the second knuckle. Translating (Z axis) the second null controller curls the second and third knuckles and rotating (Z axis) the second controller curls only the third knuckle. So, translation controls multiple knuckles and rotation controls a single knuckle. Here's a demo of how the controls work. finger_test.mov
  15. I think 3dartz used this technique to animate a face.

  17. Looking forward to it David.
  18. Well one persons "yep" wasn't too encouraging.
  19. I'm not sure what you mean by that Ken.
  20. Hmm, back to the drawing board, I guess.
  21. Still have a few things to do. What do you think so far, does she fit in?
  22. Thanks. Katt did the modeling. Bree (in purple) is the model I used to create the other two. I just cleaned up the modeling on Bree, CFA and reigged. Then modified her for the others. I still have 3 to go. I have to come up with some different outfits and different hair styles. And I have to modify their faces a bit more, they look too much alike, I think.
  23. Here's more of the cast of JaWS. Meet Summer, Spring and Bree. There are 3 more fairies in the works.
  24. I found an issue with the last installer, update4. I posted a new installer in my first post of this thread. To fix the issue, if you used the update4 installer........ Delete the Relationship folder from your model and drag and drop the Relationship folder from the new installer to your models name in the PWS. Or........ If you created your own poses and do not want to delete the whole Relationship folder, rename these bones IN THE POSE FOLDER, with "_Geom" on the end of the names, no quotations. The bones to ADD "_Geom" to are located in the Rig Relationships>Basic Setup Relationships. I posted an image showing the bones to rename. Sorry for the inconvience.
  25. Turn OFF the IK legs and arms and all the spine poses. Also turn ON the FK fingers.
