Testing, testing, is this thing on?

Gen Y here! My obsession with 3d animation began with the first time I saw Toy Story and was further fueled by repeat viewings of the show "Reboot"

My brother and I borrowed a copy of version 12 from a friend. We used money from our summer job to purchase our own copy, around the time I signed up to this forum.

Hash was one of many tools I used in a vain attempts to craft my daydreams into reality. Unfortunately, teenager me had the attention span of a goldfish.

"So now you're back, from outer space!" 🕺

In 2020 I had a creative idea that I had to see through to completion. I imagined the old pre-rendered graphics from games like Myst. The idea was to make animations that "look old" and to get in the mood I dug out my copy of A:M, with the two aliens on the cover.

Over the past 3 years I have been launching Hashish again and again to render new ideas. It's sooo fun! Have a gander:

    Damn that was fun ;).

It really looks very close to those old CGI stuff from the early beginnings ;).

  2. Yeah those are really fun. The printer automatically creates those and saves them on the MicroSD card. (or to the cloud, but I blocked that... see below)

At least a lot of them yes, but glueing is always less stable than "fully" fuised prints, especially for stuff where the wall thickness is pretty tiny like in these cases here.
And it is not always easy to model in A:M, since A:M doesnt have real booleans on a modelling level as you know. So if I can avoid it somehow, I avoid splitting models into parts which are meant to be connected.

The great thing about my new Bambu Lab printer in contrast to my old one is, that supports are very easy to get rid off and are much less dense but fully functional than on my old one. (Bambu Labs printer are great, but have serious data and design protection flaws which I had to overcome using my firewall... they really send the 3d design data to a chinese server by default and than the printer downloads it from there again... it is pretty crasy to me... luckily I found ways to overcome that, but still... you can read more about it here.)

You can just rip it of with your fingers without a lot of force (no hurting yourself involved here ;)) pretty easily in most situations. With my Makerbot Replicator 2 I could not dream of doing that in many of these cases where it now is really close to flawless but with the hollowed round shape at the bottom of it.

The biggest problem was, that I can not print this at 100% of its size but only 96% or something like that.
I will see if it is fine like this or if I will have to split it if it rally has to be 100% in size.

  3. Hey guys,

I am currently using A:M mainly for 3d print modelling of spare parts or small "helpers" and so I wanted to show a couple of them to you and what I am up to.
Some images are rendered from the 3d models created in A:M for printing others are just the resulting prints.

It is not character modelling or printing (most of the time) but stuff that serve a real life purpose. Most are small, some are bigger and they are not "great" innovations in general but just sometimes pretty useful.

Hope you like a couple of them.

If you like to see time laps of the printing, etc., have a look here:

vaseX.mdl should be a valid model. It was empty?

It was empty when I used it as a replacement of the vase.mdl, but not when I loaded it in "normally".
I think we do not know the state A:M was in when loading it in. Maybe already problematic there.

  5. 1.) When I open it the first time, it asked for vase.mdl and I could just click on cancel. Had to click that a couple of times. Then I tried to give it vaseX.mdl but that was just empty.

2.) Then I just closed the project and reloaded and there was a vase model in there and everything ran fine.

  6. For now Jason has to add the SPF entry so Gmail might allow it through. (not given, but much higher likelyhood)
Some other (for instance own domains, and some others maybe even outlook.com) might be less strict abou that, but it should be set.

I recently run into that Gmail fun with some of my own programming and so I know about it.
We need to wait for Jason to react so.

As far as spam, there's nothing in the spam folder so that rules out any emails going missing 😕

Robert, if you're getting emails instanty then I'd guess something is off somewhere with my order?

My purchase used a Gmail address so that technically should work without the store servers throwing red flags!

No, as mentioned you will not receive some emails not even in the spam folder...
Especially GMail needs a SPF entry which might not be set correctly on the hash.com domain. I told Jason about it.

This means the mail is sent out, but Gmail will not allow it due to Spam protection and will neighter deliver it to your Spam folder.

  8. Very likely too, but the hash.com Mails might be in your spam too (or even worth not being delievered to some mailboxes at all).
Especially hotmail and some others are very picky about automated e-mail messages. I could explain it indepth, but it is a pretty extensive topic.

    Not to my knowledge.

In the past, AMD updated drivers automatically and I haven't seen a new one since this issue started last fall.

Please review the attached video and let me know if I've missed anything.

Actually there were new once. Click on Start and just start typing "AMD Software: Adrenaline edition". When it started, on "Home" at the upper right corner you can see if there is a new one out. Current version is 23.7.2 publish End of July 2023.

I am pretty sure it will not make a difference, but anyway: Updating a driver might help anyway.
